Hi folks! No more progress here at the moment, in fact I am spending money! Very excited because I finally caved and bought tickets to see Eminem at Slane castle this summer - I can't wait :D

I also bought 2 dresses off Ebay 'cos I'm going to a wedding in 2 weeks but neither of them fit me :( So that's £17.50 down the drain and I'm stuck with 2 dresses I can't wear. One of them won't even fit me if I ever shift this 2 stone because it's too small on the bust and always will be :( So now OH said to just go the shops and buy a full price one but I don't know if I can bring myself to do it. I should have done that in the first place instead of buying 2 useless dresses, and then maybe I would have felt good about myself on the day.... Sorry for the rant but I'm really struggling with the balance between being frugal and sensible and actually living life while I can.... Plus my weight is a big issue for me & I've spent a fortune on crap, cheap clothes in the last 4 years since DS2 was born because I refuse to buy decent clothes until I lose weight :( Ah well onwards and upwards hey?

    Hi everyone.

Slow week here. Only up to 7.8% but I have another 2% "pending" and i'm waiting until free listing weekend to get a load of dresses up online.

Could really do with achieving 50% by 1st July and the remaining 50% by 9th September!

I have some VERY exciting news to report today - I have finally, after about 3 years of waiting, been accepted for an interest free credit card!!! So my credit rating must be looking up! So, before everyone shuts me down for accepting credit, this is purely for balance transfers from my 2 credit cards that I'm being charged 16.9% and 19.9% for. I've worked out that I will be saving £80 per month in interest which means I will be able to pay back an extra £960 off the balance in the next 12 months which is pretty huge really just from interest savings. Whats even better is that the credit limit they have given me is £4000 higher than what I need so for once I have the pleasure of ringing them up and asking them for LESS credit!

Also a little question for people - does anybody else find that they sell more on ebay when it isn't a free listing weekend? I'm finding that I hardly sell anything when its free listing and I think its probably because there is so much stuff listed on those weeks and so much more competition.

Liz-Paul I do that with clothes! Stick them back on eBay and hope for the best, do you have a next clearance near you? The one near me has a good discounted selection of nice dresses :o

Vics that's great, I wish they'd give us a 0% card just to balance transfer to, our CC is like 19% hoping in June we can apply for one once the business has been generating a nice income and we can show it with our tax return etc all the interest saved would obviously go to paying it off faster!

Nothing to report today, sorted some toys to list this weekend and going to list the outgrown baby clothes in bundles I think as they are taking up so much space now just sitting there

Jan next year my phone contract ends and I'm just going to keep the phone and do a sim only contract, my friend reckons it will save like £20 a month, going to try and get the husband on the bandwagon too, think his is a year away. So nothing I can do now but planning and all that :)

Will be starting to think about Xmas soon (don't shoot me!) and preparing to get wee bits for the kids (we are only buying for kids this year, I might make a few bits for extra special people but we are really scaling down, mainly for the cost but also to show the kids it isn't all about the presents etc).

Got 4 weeks til my holiday in Edinburgh, can anybody suggest cheap things to do there with 3 kids (ages in sig). We are being extravagant and going to Edinburgh zoo (going to see if tesco vouchers will do that) and we are going to do some foresty type walk but any suggestions welcome :)

You are right about the contracts Happytails, my partner just went sim only with orange, he got to keep his number, he was averaging £45 a month on contract, now his contract ended and he got the same amount of minutes - 600 and unlimted texts and so many megabits of internet but now its only £10 something and the vat makes it up to £12.50 a month :d yay. Mine is ending in August so I am planning on doing this aswell x

  • Hey all,

Hope everyone is doing well! Finally had a bit of sunshine this week which was lovely. Had the family round for tea on Friday eve which was nice, I worked out it was still cheaper than just the 2 of us going out for a meal, so glad we did that.

Got a few birthday presents to buy at the end of this month so I had better put aside for that now. I tend to get paid on really random days so it makes it really hard to plan for things. Think I should save up a little buffer really so I'm prepared but that's easier said that done.

Should have a few more percents on the way next week. Fingers crossed! :)
