I'm sure it'll work out in the end. I'm just gutted that I definitely won't be debt free at 30, as it was highly unlikely I was going to do it with the job I am in at the moment.
Never mind - onwards and upwards
Sorry to hear about your impending job loss GreenSaints, however,at least you have almost 20% less debt to worry about having to pay for if the worst does happen :T
To everyone else - REMEMBER ME? I had to bow out a few months ago as OH was out of work and the challenge had to go on the backburner, however, he has taken a little 12 hour per week job which brings in about £300 per month. Not a lot, I know, but it does take a lot of the pressure off me and the books - PHEW! I hope to join you all again in the not too distant future with the 1% challenge. Last time I was here, I reckoned my Next Account would be gone about February, but sadly not the case. I will get there one day.
kittiej - I read one of your earlier diaries here today - you have had a great debt free journey and I take my hat off to you. Well done.
Happytails - last time we "spoke" I think Evelyn was 2 weeks old - I can't believe she is now 6 months. Hope you are keeping well.
Hope to see you all again soon.

0.5% made today on ebay of £17 selling a few bits and bobs. Still it all adds up so this will be going on the high interest CC once the other 2 items finish tomorrow and fees and postage is paid from this

Hi everyone,
its a quick post before dashing off to my next craft fair. I was at a fair yesterday and now have £150 waiting to be paid into the account (that's 3% :j).
Plus I've just won a playmobil house (complete with furniture) on ebay ready for my daughter's birthday present - so that will have saved us a good few pounds. I also put a £10 swagbucks paypal credit towards it so even more saved.
Will update my totals after todays fair - fingers crossed for more lovely salesMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Taking the bull by the horns again
My Next Directory bill is at £250 ish. 1% = £2.50. A bottle of wine is £5ish. So, for every night I don't buy a bottle of wine for me and OH, I am aiming to transfer £5 directly to the Account. So that will be 2% each time. It also means that the debt will be gone in 50 days (the end of June). I can do this, I can, I can!
Not buying any today, so have just done my first £5 transfer. :j

Got atleast £20 coming from eBay tonight :j and £24 off a friend on Tuesday so im aiming to put £50 towards the cc (debt1) before end of the month (I'm sure I can get £6 from fb sales). That'll be nearly 1% there
Got our 3 night holiday next month so won't be putting anything but minimum payments towards mydebts until we get back, in case the car dies etc. Also planning a car boot in about a months time, going to try and flog everything on eBay before hand and then whatever is left can be booted.

Do you have to have liability insurance or anything for craft fairs? Just trying to see if its worth me venturing into this with my sewing later in the year/next year xxDFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Hi happytails, I do have liability insurance which you can pick up for around £30 for a years cover. However when I first started I did'nt have any as I wanted to test the water without spendinga fortune. Some venues do insist you have it though so before booking it is always worth checking.
I would say have a go - I have always loved making things but before I started selling I did'nt really have any confidence in my items. There is nothing better than people telling you that they love the stuff you make (and even better paying you to own it)

Sorry me again, forgot to give another update - craft fair yesterday was very slow but I have £35 waiting to be paid in to savings (which is much more than I thought). So over the weekend that means I got £185 for the savings pot = 3.7% :j)
Wont declare until actually paid into savings bank account though.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
