Sent NW a message last night chasing my application for a second account.

Logged in today to see a message saying the following.
Currently we are awaiting your signature, a request for which was sent out in the post some time ago.As you have not received this, I shall send a replacement request out to you today.

Though only one of your flex direct accounts will receive the additional interest rate, which is stated in our T and C's.

Are they cottoning on to what people are doing here and not following through with applications?

Also, have I blown it for myself by messaging them? Referring to the T&Cs makes it seem as though they're going to make sure I don't get it?

They read MSE like every other bank / BS does.

I had 3 FD's, but I've closed 2 of them now as I got tired of the external transfers and no longer have £2K spare after paying the bills (summer has ended, and so has overtime). I don't want the hassle of transfering into FD 1 then back out into another bank and then back to FD 2. I know it doesn't take that long but meh, it's not worth the £3.33 per account per month.

Yeah, true. It just seemed a bit weird how i was specifically told I wouldn't get the benefits and the letter didn't arrive.

No. Just sign the letter return the letter to them and see what happens about interest.

I forgot to set my third FlexDirect account to gross interest but I was able to "fill it in" over the phone and they refunded the tax they took off the same day. Much better than other banks that still require physical forms to be used!

I still think the whole system is !!!!!! - why would you ever be paying tax on one savings account and not another? You should be able to register for gross interest at a bank as a whole, not for specific accounts.

I have the NW Flex Direct and have just viewed my latest statement.
It shows the agreed overdraft but the review date is no longer showing.
On previous statements it has always appeared. Has anyone else found this on their latest statement.

Also increased overdraft today online and went through straight away.

Quick query....does the account have to be funded for a whole clear month before interest is paid.

My new accounts were opened mid month and there was no interest showing at the end of the month, I'm assuming it's because they need a full calendar month to pass?

    Your assumption is wrong.

You're the second person to report this recently (see post 708), so it looks like they may have a problem. Suggest you contact Nationwide...providing the funding came from outside Nationwide, rather than an internal transfer?
