Did you manage to avoid the TSV?

I have quite a few of those Elemis products myself. The Time for You Kit is very similar to the Elemis Christmas TSV with the exception of the Bliss Capsules. Enjoy. xx

    Hi luvlycake. Here is link:-

Mine hasn't arrived yet so can't let you know what it's like yet.

I look forward to your opinion, if OK for you, I might get some and trial alongside my new HG Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, I use this at night and the Elemis Pro Radiance in the morning.

I did this once. I was in Lush with an overly confrontational sales assistant, who picked up on my Body Shop carrier and asked to look at the item I had bought. I thought nothing of it until he started lecturing me Body Shop's L'Oreal buyout, and telling me how everything was tested on animals. He then proceeded to describe animal testing on the eyes of rabbits in particular.

As a longtime fan of Lush, someone who was hugely against animal testing and actively sought products that were against animal testing, I found this guy's attitude towards me revolting. I try to hold myself to my preferred standards but sometimes that just isn't always possible amongst everything else that goes on.

I left the store in tears and humiliated, putting down more than £30 worth of products rather than purchasing. Later the same day I went back and asked to speak to the manager, who proceeded to make me feel small, simply excusing her staff member's attitude as 'enthusiasm'.

I can honestly say I haven't been in that store since, and have only bought from Lush a couple of times in the 6 or 7 years since. I grew up with the brand (the factory was just down the road from my childhood home) but I just couldn't forgive a sales assistant trying to shame me in that way.

    Still upsets me now tbh.

That is horrible to hear, eckk!! That is just not right!

You're absolutely right - just googled it and yes the leaflet belongs to Animal Aid. Here's a link to the exact leaflet if anyone wants to see it, WARNING its not pretty:
    http://www.animalaid.org.uk/images/pdf/leaflets/cruelty.pdf

One thing I notice about that big photo, there's no-one whipping the horse, it's not being ridden and it's not being led in any way, who's to say it wasn't running around and hurt its leg, plus that photo looks doctored to me.....

Horsey people, what's causing that sweat? Is it sweat or is it water or something else?

Noting the recent posts I feel that good customer service is so important and will lead me to repeat patronisation.

Lush - I had a period of a couple of years when so many ingredients would bring me out in a weeping red rash, the hospital tests gave me a few pointers, but were not too detailed. My nearest Lush store then was the one in Taunton, Somerset and the staff there were superb, they would give me good sized samples to take away and try and offer advice as to what would be the most suitable, for that reason several of their products became HG's to me. It is only now that there is no shop in easy reach that I have found alternative products. It may be because I am older, but in any store I have been into, the staff have left me alone, on request, to browse. I am outside their usual demograhic age range, my older Grandchildren are the age of a lot of the SA's.

My local BS staff were very pushy and I stopped going in, waiting until I was in another town to buy.

I think Tokkiandoliver will have a wealth of information from here to take back to management. BTW I think putting the information about the injured race horses in customers purchases without asking is inappropriate, that is not to say that I wholly endorse the racing industry, a lot of work is being done on welfare, as in other walks of life I am sure their is room for improvement, (I have never owned a horse or been to a race meeting!)

Yes, I do believe that they need to know that valued customers are being offended and upset over service they received in the shops and also about what their campaigns mean to people too x

 Did they really??? oh and it was going SO well.... at a wild guess it will be Animal Aid - the same rent-a-mob who I have regular run ins with in Bournemouth and outside the Grand National when they have their annual group holiday to Aintree station.

I didnt get in there today to get my shampoo - Im glad now, cos theres no way in the world I can go back to them while they are supporting them - thats almost worse than when they were supporting the Hunt Sabateurs Association (in case anyone couldnt guess - I was a big antiLush person when they started selling that one and went back last year when they had seen the error of their ways)

!!!!!! and nuts - need to find a new shampoo now though - I loved the coconut curly one !!!!

in fact, Im so bloody angry about this that im tempted to go and spend the voucher I got for christmas PURELY so I can have a go at the sales assistants (who it has nothing to do with!)

Ergh just made the mistake of googling animal aid. If I remember rightly they were the group that always had the stall outside WH Smiths in Bournemouth, with the awful pictures of animals with broken backs etc. Had quite a run in with them when I managed a store just off the triangle.

I will be having nightmares of those pictures tonight :(
  • No IN's today

No OUT's today, but I do have loads of splutters at the moment.

I decided that I'm going to treat myself to my favourite perfume soon, so I'm going to save all my pennies up for that. It's going to be a "just because I work my butt off" gift to myself :)

  • Having looked through the thread I think it's clear Lush is quite a Marmite type brand. I think it is always going to polarise opinions as it's so different from other brands in so many ways.

Joslette welcome to the thread. I am incredibly envious of your nail polish stash!

I had a NPI of nailpolish tonight; went in to TX Maxx which had an awesome kit of 10 mini opi's for £20, and a couple of other things. Luckily enough I had left my purse at home and OH refuses to go in to TX Maxx.

I've also had several NPI's with a stash of products to make bath bombs, melts and bubble bars. I have £35 in a basket waiting to be checked out; but it will have to wait at least until the next pay day. I'm not sure buying things to make my own products is going to help when the stash list is over 300 still...

In a redirection effort, I bought some jewellery making equipment form Hobbycraft tonight, thought I would have a play and see how I get on.

One OUT: Sally Hansen maximum growth polish 13ml. I have had this in the stash for years and years, looking at it tonight it looked an odd colour and texture. As I mainly use OPI nail envy as a base and top coat, this was TA. WNBA as found it was too thick and peeled.

no Valm I didn't buy it, I kept putting it in my bag throughout the day but never went through with the purchase. I think before I did this, and counted up the amount I have I might have, so I feel quite sensible and 'in charge' if that makes sense!?

And Kiplingmonkey - that's a great idea! So far I think I've only had a bad urging for the Decleor and the Elemis - I'm really wanting to try some Elemis stuff. I just keep saying to myself that when I get my stash down, and don't have a daft amount of toiletries to get down, then can treat myself to these things.

    hope everyone is well!

They still do rogueylawyer - still there, still pedaling lies and ridiculousness and badly researched things they spout as "fact"

The sweat on the horse with the fracture I think is a mixture of the heat (i vaguely remember being told that horse wasnt even in the UK,but I could be remembering one of the others they like to use) and the exertion of the race - horses tend to be a bit like us where they sweat during a race, but also sweat quite a lot as they cool down. Adrenalin is an amazing pain relief,so his pain will be minimal temporarily, hes more likely to be upset by the rest of the field leaving him behind (herd mentality is what racing is basically based on!) Rest assured though - that horse will have waited a maximum of about two minutes before being euthanased. Racehorses get the very best care on and off the racecourse, there are always multiple vets on a course and they follow each race so that they are on site with the least amount of waiting to help any stricken horses.
Nobody likes it and measures are in place (and changing all the time) to keep everyone as safe as possible - but its something that you have to accept will occasionally happen. We ask these wonderful, beautiful animals to do a job for us - they are looked after like kings but you cant keep them safe all the time and every owner, trainer, lad and spectator knows that theres a small risk that their horse wont come home.
Ive done the drive home with space in the lorry that wasnt there on the way up - its not nice. Nobody, but NOBODY sends a horse to a race intending it to injure itself, but its a risk that goes with the territory. For organisations like Animal Aid to cherry pick the bits that are the most sensational and use it against a sport that is actually one of the safest and best run really really annoys me.

sorry everyone - will get off my soapbox for the moment!!!!!
