While we're on the topic of Lush (roguey, your experience sounds awful, definitely complain!) I went in last week to get my Mum's Mother's day present (she loves Lush) and in front of the till were a pile of leaflets from some organisation - I forget who - who want to ban jump racing. The town I live in is hosting the mega big jump race week (I'm sure you horsey folk know the town), so I'm guessing they were tapping into that.
The leaflet had a very graphic photo on the front of a racing horse with a severely broken leg. I'm not squeamish but admit it turned my stomach a bit. I don't like horse racing so I guess I should support them but it just felt a bit out of place to me.
Anyway, what I didn't notice was that when the sales girl bagged up my gift, she put one of these leaflets into my bag. When I got home and put the bag down, my 2 year old started rummaging through it and pulled out the leaflet. She was very upset to say the least at the 'hurt horsey'. I don't believe in wrapping kids up in cotton wool but there are some things they shouldn't see. I'm annoyed aswell.
Some UUs from me - March is a good month so far with a few more UUs to come before the month is out:
- Avon Snowflake Bath Bomb - an xmas present. Nice smell but turned the bath purple which was difficult to rinse off!
- Neom Violet, Chamomile & Cedarwood hand cream - a magazine freebie. Nice enough but the cedarwood was too strong a smell for me.
- Taylor Swift Wonderstruck perfume sample - this has been knocking about in my bag for ages, I struggle to use up perfumes that don't have a pump action. Ok smell but wouldn't buy.
Have a good day all.
 Did they really??? oh and it was going SO well.... at a wild guess it will be Animal Aid - the same rent-a-mob who I have regular run ins with in Bournemouth and outside the Grand National when they have their annual group holiday to Aintree station.
I didnt get in there today to get my shampoo - Im glad now, cos theres no way in the world I can go back to them while they are supporting them - thats almost worse than when they were supporting the Hunt Sabateurs Association (in case anyone couldnt guess - I was a big antiLush person when they started selling that one and went back last year when they had seen the error of their ways)
!!!!!! and nuts - need to find a new shampoo now though - I loved the coconut curly one !!!!
in fact, Im so bloody angry about this that im tempted to go and spend the voucher I got for christmas PURELY so I can have a go at the sales assistants (who it has nothing to do with!)

Oh my gosh! I'm so excited to have found this thread!
I am a total make up/body product hoarder and would like to keep track on what I have rather than just adding to it and not using anything up? Is it too late to start on March's challenge? Should I wait til next month to start? xxxx
WelcomeJoin and post away - and ignore any/all of my current posting about Lush and their ridiculousness.

One more UU to report:
Boots Teatree and Witch hazel facial cleanser. I've had this for ages and finally finished it. Nothing wrong with it at all, but I had so many other cleansing products that it kept getting pushed to the back of the queue.
On the Lush thing, I like their stuff, and don't have a Lush near me so buy stuff online occasionally but find their staff really overbearing and it does put me off going into their shops. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2013: Start 112 items 01/01/13

You're absolutely right - just googled it and yes the leaflet belongs to Animal Aid. Here's a link to the exact leaflet if anyone wants to see it, WARNING its not pretty:

Just been catching up with the thread, but OMG how crazy of Lush tohave those leaflets in that store this week, a bit of potential PR disaster or do they think people will have paid for their items and be home before they see the flier??
I am not a fan of Lush, the smell when you go past makes me feel quite I'll, and as for supporting the Hunt Sabatours Association, grrr!
Anyway back ontopicno more INS or OUTs
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

hi all,
Just a quick post, I haven't had chance to read all the posts but I hope you are all well!
*waves at the new folk*
Just popping in to report an in from last week - it's a GWP Percy&Reed finishing polish.
As I have a glut of hair products, it may be some time before you see a review!0 -
UU
cotton wool pads - WBA
Another 19 outs - sold on ebay
I recoiled in horror today when a work colleague gave me a bag of toiletries that she no longer needed and thought I would like to use. It was a lovely gesture and I didnt have the heart to tell her that I already had enough to restock a medium sized Boots store. I was laden with ebay parcels to post so its still at work so will declare these when I bring them home.No more buying toiletries0 -
Just saw the leaflet - how horrible! I'm sure I've seen Lush pushing a handful of campaigns, a bit like the 'campaign of the month'.
We're nowhere near a horse track here though, so I wonder if it was a local branch decision (the leaflets would mean nothing in my branch). I think everyone is entitled to support their causes and campaigns, but I agree - it's not right to ram theirs down your neck.
I'm not a big Lush fan these days. When I was a student, I had a tight budget, and could only afford the odd treat. I became frustrated at how quickly things went off/ran out compared to other (cheaper) products. Yes, Lush products were more natural etc etc but when you look closely, they have more stray 'bad' ingredients that I originally thought they did.0 -
A little UU of a hotel body lotion, lovely small but a very narrow neck so difficult to get the product out.Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
I think they are hoping that they will turn people away from racing by using this week to do it - they are on to a completely losing battle there, the kind of people who support NH racing also tend to be more your hunting shooting fishing types who will laugh at this and waste no time telling them how wrong they are (and I am well aware thats a bit of a generalisation, not all Jump racing people are pro field sports by a long way, but Id guess the vast majority of them are) they'd be better closing their shops for the week in protest, cos obviously they wouldnt want to take money from people who support such a "barbaric" and cruel sport (which has nowhere near that attrition rate a year, and what they dont say is that around 3/4000 horses finish each season absolutely fine and in rude health, and theres an incredibly small percentage of the injured ones who have to be put down have injuries like that one, but of course thats not so shocking is it.... !)
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR cant wait to go shopping Thursday in town (before I go and support the terrible barbaric sport) guess where Im going first...
one In - the percy and reid hair oil with Glamour mag. Hopefully its nicer on my hair than their shampoos!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0
