Afternoon! Does anyone want to join Boots Review Panel? I'm on it, you get sent free products to try and all you need to do is leave a review on the Boots website, no endless surveys or anything. They are especially after women aged 35 and over who dye their own hair, but they will consider you nevertheless. Let me know if you're interested and I'll message you :)

EDIT: Sorry, got it wrong, you would need to be over 35, the dyeing your own hair thing is negotiable x

I'm thirty four and three quarters, will they take me?? :D

I'd love to be considered too ;)
I have been on for a while(okay I AM well over 35:rotfl:...er well over 55 too :()and have tested all sorts of stuff,it is a lot easier than the beauty bible in terms of form filling....just a short online one and of course free so win win:).you don't actually know what the brand is but can contact them after I think to find out.I looke dyesterday but they have no new trials at the moment, this does seem to be seasonal so worth contacting them to join(cannot remember how I started with them)

waiting for beauty bible stuff at the mo but last time it took ages to arrive(no worries as still using last lot from October anyway:rotfl:)

Between the Decleor deal, and the Arden foundation deal at Boots, I'm having a trying day! Keep looking at my list of unopened items and thinking 'No!'.

Anyway, here's my list from the weekend!
5 UUs - Body Shop 50ml Vit E cream. WMBA. Have another 2 in the stash, so need to repurchase (if I choose to) for a while. Not sure if I find it heavy enough, but I do like how it sinks in, and when it's on a deal I think it's quite a good price.

No 7 wipes - WBA, but only when on deal, as £7 for wipes is too much! I do like these though, and I like how the plastic top keeps them from drying out.

YSL 1.5ml serum. WNBA. £60 for full size! I really can't decide how I felt about this. I can't lie, it had an instant effect on my fine lines, but I hated the texture! The next day after using it (sachet lasted 3 days) my skin was incredibly dry, which I don't think I could cope with.

    Pantene 10ml shampoo - WBA.

Clairol Colour mask from hair dye - HG! I love this so much! Little goes a long way, and hair always lovely after this! I have no need to repurchase as have lots of sachets from dyes, but if I had none left I would repurchase the little bottles in a flash!

INs - MIL gave me a 2ml sample of Angel.

On an unrelated note...my BF bought me a bottle of perfume from Debenhams for my Bday. It's not really to my taste (tried it in Boots before opening it) and it's still wrapped. Could I take it to Debenhams for an exchange for another perfume without a receipt? I'm always scared to do stuff like this!

    Hope everyone's well!

I would say that the perfume brought you out in a rash when you tried it in Boots... A little white lie that may gain you more sympathy!

Although there is no obligation to, I think most stores will let you exchange a sealed product as the product can be resold by them. I can remember doing similar when I worked on a perfume counter in Germany, for a NAAFI Families Shop.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Finally, I was reading about the new Elemis cleansing balm on ST.com yesterday and someone posted a link to an Ebay seller who makes natural skincare. She was really raving about the cleansing balm from this lady as it's only £5. for 100ml. I have ordered one for Emma to try and will gladly let you all know what it's like if anyone is interested.

Would love the link to the ebay lady? :)

Oh and if anyone has the link to the swap thread/facebook thing I'd like that too please? :D
    Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

    Aww I'm under 35...so Boots don't want me? I feel excluded :(

While we're on the topic of Lush (roguey, your experience sounds awful, definitely complain!) I went in last week to get my Mum's Mother's day present (she loves Lush) and in front of the till were a pile of leaflets from some organisation - I forget who - who want to ban jump racing. The town I live in is hosting the mega big jump race week (I'm sure you horsey folk know the town), so I'm guessing they were tapping into that.

The leaflet had a very graphic photo on the front of a racing horse with a severely broken leg. I'm not squeamish but admit it turned my stomach a bit. I don't like horse racing so I guess I should support them but it just felt a bit out of place to me.

Anyway, what I didn't notice was that when the sales girl bagged up my gift, she put one of these leaflets into my bag. When I got home and put the bag down, my 2 year old started rummaging through it and pulled out the leaflet. She was very upset to say the least at the 'hurt horsey' :(. I don't believe in wrapping kids up in cotton wool but there are some things they shouldn't see. I'm annoyed aswell.

Some UUs from me - March is a good month so far with a few more UUs to come before the month is out:
    - Avon Snowflake Bath Bomb - an xmas present. Nice smell but turned the bath purple which was difficult to rinse off!
    - Neom Violet, Chamomile & Cedarwood hand cream - a magazine freebie. Nice enough but the cedarwood was too strong a smell for me.
    - Taylor Swift Wonderstruck perfume sample - this has been knocking about in my bag for ages, I struggle to use up perfumes that don't have a pump action. Ok smell but wouldn't buy.

    Have a good day all.

mccullough - thanks for the suggestion! :)

and there's lots of bad stories about Lush on here! Have to admit I get put off by their rather aggressive strategy in sales, I hate being followed around and talked at when all I want to do is browse! Puts me off going in in general!

Have to say, to the person who complained about the (incredibly rude!) person who went through their Body Shop bag, and the manager was completely condoning their behaviour with 'enthusiasm', I would have been fuming. How dare that manager condone that, at the end of the day you went in to buy something, and they should have sold it to you, not attempted to degrade you. Bang out of order! Has put me off the (very very few) purchases I make from Lush!
