I`m not sure if it`s ok for me to post here as a mere male but let me say I have lots of good ideas regarding cooking up a storm . I decided to do more cooking about this time last year and am proud to say that I managed to stick with it (much to the amazement of the Boss who is , I think , simply glad the kitchen survives in one piece). Amongst my culinary adventures are bread, various roasts and Christmas cakes . I am amazed at how much you all seem to do - I am a mere beginner.
To the lady with the winnings in her signature - that`s excellent! Well done! Myself I don`t even win the odd argument !
To th elady with the bad neighbours - well , if it was me , I would get the house on the market sharpish if it`s yours or ask for a transfer if it isn`t . Some time ago we had similar problems - teenagers with the sort of Jack-the - Lad attitude that makes your blood boil . We put up with it for a while then bit the bullet and sold up . It was the best thing we ever did ! We`re so much happier in a much nicer neighbourhood. We went back to visit friends at Christmas and I`m glad we got out when we did.
Well, that`s enough for now - regards to you all ( won`t say Hugs as Mrs Cat might well strangle me)0 -
catman - welcome to OS, im sure you will love joining in with us all (and im sure MATH will like another 'man about the OS board'!!!!)

Nice to see you back Loumac
Welcome Catman. The more men the merrier I say.
Sorry you'r having neighbour problems Rage
Well I still feel rotten and my headache won't shift but for some reason I couldn't settle to put my feet up. Soooooo......I added to my cookathon of last night and baked 2 banana loaves, 24 chocolate chip cookies and 24 double chocolate and cherry muffins.
Don't know what possessed me. OH wants to know if I've heard about a nuclear threat.
Off to bed in a bit.
Sleep well all.
Haribo x0 -
Evening all - am knickered but can't go to bed until the bread is baked. Also am aching from yoga dvd but am having a coffee and a fag to restore equilibrium.
I also dreamed about my dad, that I was visiting him in holland. I couldn't get it out of my head as I rarely dream of family members but my friend broke the dream today by asking if I'd seen the programme last night about the dutch twins so I now think it was that that brought it on.
Sat up late last night talking to exboyf's stepmum - he had spoken to her and she says he took a load of diamazepan (or something like that) but is otherwise coherent in Hanoi  do you know it's only when I write down something like that that I realise that my life is not actually very very boring but in fact quite complex.
Exoh is all stressed cos he got a speeding ticket and has to go to the police station and show his licence which is in the wrong address which i think is illegal but I've had a lovely couple of days without him. He wants to take me out to make up for taking the mike but I've suggested that he takes himself out two nights running instead.
I have been doing a freezer and storecupboard challenge this week but am less organised than the rest of you so tonight we had lentil bolognaise and ... rice noodles - tomorrow's extravaganza will be mushroom burgers, falafels and oven chips - yum. I did unearth a longforgotten pack of smoked salmon which went very nicely with my poached eggs this morning. I meant to save half the pack for tomorrow's breckie but was a pig and ate it with a fork out of the packet while the eggs were poaching
welcome Mr Catman - aaaaaw a new friend for Math and Mrbadexample - bless- hug away - we won't tell Mrs Cat
Hope you all have nice dreams tonight

Well as it's the house I grew up in and I had a heck of a fight to get my sisters to let me buy them out I'm a tad reluctant to move. Besides, they seem the type of people that will just move and move. The parents of the wife live just a bit further up the road and I have a sneaking suspicion that when they pop off the people next door will decamp there. One thing they did say which was interesting was that they've "offered" to buy the overgrown house off the old lady who lives there. I laughed at "offered" - like it's a favour. We went in their house once when they were away and we'd been asked to keep an eye on it - they've really knocked it about. We've had lots of building work on our but really, a stair with no bannisters - how safe is that? It would help as well if they could be bothered to get a carpet - and no, it's not nice floorboards but just "left" floorboards. My major "appalled moment" came when I realised that they had removed the art deco stained glass front door and stained glass surround and replaced it with a PVC one. When we had our glass all re-glazed the glazier said they would cost a fortune new and they just threw it out apparently. Best bit though is that they've had that plastic frosting put on their windows at the front. I keep expecting the word "dentist" to appear in the window!!They've also paved over the front garden which at least means they don't park cars on their lawn. I'd have loads of tubs though but they've just got some weeds. Well, perhaps they don't know they're weeds...... I think I'll just do some cosmic ordering for a new neighbour
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
