Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone.

I have no idea what I'm doing awake at this unearthly hour, but awake I am and aching from head to toe.

Helped a friend sort out a balcony yesterday, it took all day to clear and clean it. Looks lovely now, which is more than I can say for me this morning!

W**k today, which probably has something to do with my sleeplessness. It is so stressful there just now. But after work I'm planning to start on my new regime... Racy's nice job/nasty job approach to keeping house. So it will be something like, wash dishes (nasty) followed by pot up some seedlings (nice) ot clean loo (nasty) then tie in the climbers (nice). Wash kitchen floor (very nasty) followed by... oh darn, I can't think of any more nice ones just now!Lets see how I get on, but please don't anyone bet on me finally getting to the bottom of the ironing pile with this method :rotfl:

Right, time to either get a few more zzzzzs or have a potter about.

Have a great day today. icon7.gif

    Morning Everyone

I'm sitting here in tears this morning. Found out I think I may have been led right up the garden path with my "bf". Seems he told people he went to Florida on his own and his 20 year old gf doesn't want him to go back out to america for the summer. I'm 23 and never said a thing. I've not seen him since we got home and he's been off on the phone. I don't know what to do. It seems he know longer wants me to move abroad with him either. Something's definitely up

Back at work full time again from holiday. Got to have a talk with my new boss tomorrow. No doubt that'll be fun. Thank God it's a short week, as I don't know how I'm going to get through this.

Need to start notching up some overtime for this month. Not sure how that's going to happen, but I'll find something.

No word on my flat yet. Seems to have all gone quiet since I gave the go ahead for the searches

    Sorry to rant

    Hope you're ok

    Good morning everyone,

scuzz - ((HUGS)) hope you find out one way or another soon, hope all will be ok for you xxx

csarina - hope you have a lovely holiday

Didnt have a good night last night, kept having horrible dreams involving my children, so ive woken up feeling 1. a bit tearful and 2. pleased they were only dreams!!! Def a strange feeling.
Had a busy day yesterday, stayed home, but got both the childrens rooms MY clean. It was nice to walk past DDs room just now and see a clean floor, and know the rest of it is not just tidy, but clean as well (i went round on my hands and knees with the duster and hoover!!!). So, the kithen still looks like a bombs hit it, as that was yesterdays job, but at least their rooms dont (for today anyway).
Today, im going to take the children to school, and LO to nursery, then visit my friend who went to Ozs husband. He has some plants and pots for me (will be letting me have the garden furniture before him and his DD leave in June) and he also does 'psycic readings' and has been wanting to do one for me for months now, so he will also be doing that - should be interesting, last time he did one for me (years ago now) he picked up on a few things that ended up happening!!
Right, off to finish my cuppa, LO due in a bit.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning all

Scuzz, sorry things aren't going well, but you have to get your bf to talk to you - there is obviously something wrong

Lots of rain here overnight so everything in the allotment will be shooting up (including the weeds) :D

Work today, so the weeding will have to wait

Hope everyone has a good day and :grouphug: to scuzz and others in need x

Hi all. Didn’t get a chance to post yesterday. I’d had a rotten night’s sleep – another what I call ‘round’ night because I end up in a loop of sleep-wake-sleep-wake, get up, wander round the house, read the paper until I’m tired again, go back to bed and still unable to sleep – then, when I finally do conk out, I oversleep which I really hate because I feel the whole day has gone to pot! I like to wake up early on my own and have an hour to myself on here but DH was up before me yesterday so I lost out! I managed to get a quick peek on yesterday’s thread after breakfast but then didn’t get enough free time to post. Instead, I made some cakes and did a load of paperwork for DH’s business accounts and he did all my ironing – very slowly, throughout the day, but he did get it all done – I was so grateful, I made him his favourite – rice pudding in the SC!
So, (((hugs))) to all who needed them yesterday, welcome to the newbies and happy birthdays to the birthday-girls! Will try and have a proper read of yesterday’s thread later. Had some rain yesterday but not a great deal. Didn’t have enough washing for a load so that was a job saved. Made Weetabix Brownies a la AMIE, and Banana Flapjacks a la SAMSAMPOTTS – both of which are delicious.
Was up until late last night filing away the last of DH’s paperwork but didn’t mind because I thought I would get a good night’s sleep but I ended up with a worse one than the night before! I feel as if I am really sleep-deprived now and will start to get grumpy! Years ago, I could have shrugged it off but nowadays I can only cope with two or three bad nights before it really gets to me.
Dinner today is meatloaf a la QUEENIE with salad and new potatoes, rice pudding for DH (I hate rice pudding – always have!) so I’ll have some left-over fruit with yoghurt. DH is running errands today and will be back at work tomorrow so I’ll be able to concentrate better then – I have a lot of recipes to file, a menu plan to do which I should have done last week, a walk up to the paper shop. Then, I have to keep an eye on the weather. If it doesn’t rain DGS7yo will be staying on at school for cricket club but if it does, I’ll need to collect him from school because Tueday is usually his afternoon here. The school have to decide by lunchtime so that they can email all the parents so should know by then.
Weather looks pretty dull at the moment and suddenly I have enough washing for two loads so don’t know whether I’ll be able to dry it outside or not. Half my washing line is under cover so may have to hang it all up there, if it looks like rain. Thing is, I have got used to not having to hang it up on the clothes horse upstairs and, also, it’s too warm to have the heating on. Problems, problems – which seem worse when you are SO DARN TIRED!
There are upsides to the rain, though! Yesterday’s has worked its magic on the irises in the pond! I’ve just looked when I went to put the kettle on for another cuppa, and they are looking stunning! I tried to ignore the extra inch or so on the grass!
Well, will drip (sorry, drop – but, perhaps, the way I am feeling this morning, drip is a better word!) in later- should get a few moments to myself now and again today so will try and keep up with you all today!
