Afternoon All
Hope everyone is OK (((hugs))) for Scuzz and PP.
Havnt been on for couple of days so if Ive missed any news Im sorry. Story is woke up at 3am Sat night with really bad back pain (muscular according to the doc) and therefore spent all Sunday in bed. Was a bit better so could go out yesterday (saw Spiderman - v good) and is a little better today. Its just achey today - I dont normally suffer with back pain and I didnt damage it as far as I am aware so dont know what happened there.
As a consequence I have started this week behind on everything. Today I had to rush into town to pay some money into the bank as forgot about the bank holiday and need to pay wages today. Ran some other errands whilst there also. So only just starting on my office work now. Have until 3.30 to get loads done.
Anyway enough moaning. Need to get on. Having a mix match of dinner tonight - DS will have beans on toast before footie, OH will have left over shepherds pie - DD will have something on toast or some pasta and Im not sure what to have yet.
Have a great day.0 -

Hi to all – just dropping in after my mad cook-in! Have made Queenie’s Meatloaf to have cold with salad and new pots tonight, followed by Plum and Rhubarb Crumble which we’ll have with the usual yoghurt,
but no doubt OH will have his with the rest of yesterday’s SC rice pud! How can men do that? I ask him what he wants for pudding if there’s a choice and he’ll always say ‘a bit of everything’!
I hope all us insomniacs manage to get some sleep tonight! I’m of the can’t-get-to-sleep AND can’t-stay-asleep variety but I am very interested in the hypnotherapy idea. I know it’s because my brain never feels as tired as my body and thoughts just keep jumping into my head all the time. I’m going to start writing down the things that bother me just before I go to sleep in the hope that THEY go to sleep, too! My post has just gone skew-wiff – don’t know why!
SCUZZ – talk to your BF – you need to find out asap.
STRESSEDOUT- Happy Birthday for yesterday
LYNZ - Good Luck with the Pound-a-Day – let us know how you get on!
JET77 - Have a brilliant time on your date tonight!
SAMSAM – Your GP’s practice sounds awful. I know ours isn’t like that – at least, not yet! AND – you really must have that op. I hope that when you finally get to see a doctor, you ask him about it. Your OH is right to worry and that is why is wants to go with you!
CRAZYCHIK – I really hope the birthday card gets the result you want.
DANNAHAZ – Hope your neighbour’s problems get sorted out. I’ve always been really lucky with neighbours but I’ve known plenty of people who haven’t. It must be awful. Going to hunt on the thread for the Piadine recipe in a minute!
HARIBO - what a brilliant idea to peel a load of onions for the freezer! I’ve had to peel a couple this morning for the meatloaf and, also, to marinate in balsamic vinegar and brown sugar (really yummy with salad!).
CAZZIEBO – Thanks for the info re hypnotherapy for poor sleepers!
BARGAIN - enjoy Paris. I love it!
PENNYPINCHER – what an awful diagnosis – and YOU ARE NOT GOING ON ABOUT YOUR HEALTH! I don’t know how you cope with it all but, maybe, by posting about it, someone may be able to offer you some help and advice.
SHEZ – hope your work worries sort themselves out. Queenie’s meatloaf is superb, by the way. Have just made one!
To all who have mentioned violent dreams – I have them (see, I do get some sleep!) and they are always about the children. I can wake up really sobbing and it takes my DH ages to calm me down. I also had one recently that I just cannot come to terms with; my father died 38 years ago, when I was just sixteen, and I dreamt that he was still alive and what made it so real was that I kissed him on the cheek and I could feel his skin and smell his shaving cream. I sobbed for hours and hours when I woke up because I felt so cheated – I really woke up thinking he had come back! My poor DH didn’t know what to do and was really upset for me and that made me even sadder. The mind is a powerful thing, isn’t it?
Anyway, I’ll leave on a lighter note! I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday; mine has just got better because I’ve decided to have an afternoon nap! See you later when I am all refreshed – I hope!

QUEENIE’S MEATLOAF
Beef Loaf
1lb lean minced beef
½ lb sausage meat
1 chopped onion
1 oz fresh breadcrumbs
1 tbsp each of tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce (could substitute ketchup
and brown sauce)
1tsp dried mixed herbs (I have used some stuffing mix!)
Pepper
1 egg, beaten
Line a one- and-a-half-pound loaf tin with foil
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl then press mixture lightly into the
Prepared tin and cover with foil.
If you like you can freeze it at this point; it can be defrosted overnight in the fridge.
Put into a pre-heated oven, 180C/350F/Gas 4, for one to one-an-a-half hours or until
the loaf shrinks from the sides of the tin. Serve hot or cold. Serves 4 -6.
You can alter it by using different ingredients – you’ll find you will experiment with each one but the basic meatloaf is really tasty!
AMIE’S WEETABIX BROWNIES
Four crushed Weetabix
4 ozs caster sugar
4 ozs SR flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
100g grated cooking chocolate
Mix all the ingredients together, then take 4 ozs melted butter and one egg and mix in.
Mix well, put into a lined baking tray for fifteen minutes at 180C/350F/Gas 4
Can be frozen – delicious!
SAMSAMPOTT’S BANANA FLAPJACK
80G brown sugar
40g butter
60g margarine
250g oats
1 mashed banana
Pinch salt
2 tbsp honey
You can add a few tbsp of crushed seeds i.e. pumpkin, sesame, etc.
Melt butter and margarine, add sugar and honey, add oats and salt, mash banana and add with seeds if using.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 220C/425F/Gas 6/7 for fifteen minutes, stand for a few minutes, then score. Cool and cut into squares. Wonderful!
I’m sorry but my typing has gone out of line – don’t know why!
I've really enjoyed these recipes and they have become firm favourites Chez Mioliere - still have some more to try. Will do those next week and report back - I'm thinking about Crazychik's Carrot Cake. Sounds lovely!

When I typed all this in Word it would not line up down the page but when I posted it, it did! Spooky, or what?!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Afternoon all,
Haribo, I hope you aren't getting what the girls had. Will you get out of that kitchen and go and have a rest!
Moliere, Are the weetabix brownies good? I haven't tried them but I've been meaning to since Martin recommended Jaxxy's recipe which looks very similar to amie's.
Anniestar, <<hugs>> I hope things get better for you both soon.
Dannahaz, thanks for the encouragement with the gardening...this is the first year I've tried it and the garden is really looking good!
Penny Pincher, Take it easy and I hope you feel better soon.
Shez, I hope you hear something about work sooner rather than later.
Well the house is clean and tidy, and all the plants are watered but I'm feeling really tired so I'm going to put the trip to the garden centre off until tomorrow because if I go an buy them I'll feel that I have to plant them.
My change of plan involves a long bath and a book. I feel a little bit guilty that I should be doing something more productive, but who cares, we all deserve a little 'me' time now and again!
That and the homeworks and tea for the children should keep me busy enough this afternoon.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

moliere - thanks for the recipes!
regarding your dream- have looked up a dream meaning for you:
Father:
This symbol is highly personalized, and should be considered in light of your relationship with your father. Generally, dreaming of a father (yours or anyone else’s) represents authority, while mothers represent love and protection. If your relationship with your father was good, dreaming of him implies advancement and/or assistance from authority figures in your life. If your relationship with him was strained, however, dreaming of him indicates trouble coming from authority figures, such as your boss. If you’re dreaming of a dead parent, especially if he or she is speaking to you, important news is coming your way. Whether the news is good or bad depends on other dynamics in the dream.
pink - thanks. Also I didnt know you were coming over to Racey's, I could have popped along to see you both as she doesnt live far from me! catch you next time hopefully! x0 -
