Can I join please? I got my BFP last week (utterly unexpected even though we were trying!).

I think I am about six weeks, although my cycles have varied a bit over the past few months. First doctors appointment is on the 9th October, and I guess I'll get scan dates etc after that?

I also have lots of questions. Like, does anybody else's tummy gurgle like there is a tiger trapped in there? And are twinges normal (not cramps, just the odd small muscle twinge)?

Congratulations :D it's worth asking your gp receptionist if you actually veered to see the doc before midwife, or whether you book straight in with her. Often times the gp has no interest and the midwives sort the scans anyway. And yes, and yes ;)

    Congatulations goppers too :D

  • There are lots of notts ladies aren't there. I had the pool at city hospital so must have been very lucky then! I'm having this one at homebin a pool this time though.

Also, is anyone else showing alreay? I look quite visibly pregnant now and I'm really scared someone will notice at work! :( I thought I was only about 5 weeks so surely its far too early to be showing?!

If you're a skinny miny you might show earlier but it's more likely that your colleagues won't even notice at all ... and if they do they might just assume you've been eating lots of pies ;)

With Frog I moved into maternity jeans at 11 weeks as my normal ones were just too tight when sitting down. It took a good few more weeks for me to look pregnant rather than just tubby. I've put on some weight over the summer so I'm already in my maternity jeans this time at 9 weeks but the blasted things keep falling down so I'm forever hitching them up.

  • Skinny minny! I wish lol I'm a size 16! I just have a really rounded tummy that looks alike a bump, except I didnt expect to look like this til about 4 or 5 months! It is hard at the top and rounds down I just look totally pregnant I'm shocked!
  • Good luck Jenny on your scan today!

Welcome newbies, especially Gopper - great to see you here :)

I'm 12w 3 now and still not in maternity jeans Marywoo but that's only because I feel abit of a drama queen getting them this early ( could have changed about 10 wks really!). I find by about 6pm my stomach has grown so much I look and feel about 6 months and yet keep getting told it's too early to swap. Think I'm going to bite the bullet this weekend though as I am so uncomfortable in my jeans now when sitting down.

Well finally got MW appointment on Monday! Scan Tuesday, so all happening now :D

    Good luck today Jenny

Or do you mean private as in non-nhs, private care?

I mean nhs but just individual rooms...... I was choosing between Durham and Sunderland. :)

    Katy -welcome twin

Marywoo - I'm an 18 but hubby can already see changes in my tummy rounding out. I've recently lost a load of weight and being bigger, no one will notice. Hubby only noticed whilst I was changing clothes

Kalama - congrats and welcome. Did you manage to get yourself a new dog? Hope that you're well.

Jenny - really hope the day goes quickly for you.
