TTC - I actually have tears in my eyes after reading about your dads reaction. That is one of the best things I have ever read on MSE. So so pleased for you :) And also quite jealous of your windfall! Can I share your parents please :)

MV - No bleeding since Wednesday. Did a FRER this morning and the line is quite dark. No pain yet today either. Fingers crossed eh?

Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts. I hope I can report good news tomorrow

    Lily xxx

Thanks Lily. Your comments are appreciated. Hope that it works out well for us both.

We had waited til we sat down for a Chinese takeaway and dropped it in. I have never seen my dad in such a fluster - he forgot how to make a duck pancake !

He was kissing me & oh repeatedly! They've got to do something today which is a bit downbeat but they have said they don't know how they will be able hide their smiles.

They really couldn't have been happier if we had told them we had won the lottery jackpot.

Currently got a flight delay so hiding in airport lounge so challenge 1 of not letting it be known im not drinking complete. Have already had to put into the kitty for vodka though - not very MSE !

PP - have you suggested he goes for the snip. If this is so truly difficult for him I guess you/ he want to avoid a repeat.

Great news Lily. Fingers X'd it's one of those 'bleeding for no good reason' situations.

I had spotting at the beginning of this pregnancy too and thought it was game over again. had a total meltdown in front of OH's parents who were visiting for the weekend..all very embarrassing!

The bleeding then stopped and so far so good :)

My thoughts too PP. That way he can't blame you!

Love the way contraception is still mostly seen as a 'woman's job'!

I've cancelled the first consultant appointment.. far better things to do with my time than have lies and unproven rubbish shoved down my throat. It was also with some female obs. and they are notorious for their nasty behaviour and the MW specifically requested someone else.

Hello there - can I ask what they're likely to say? I'm preparing myself for all sorts of statistics about being old, ill, etc that I sometimes struggle to figure out what is worth paying attention to and what isn't:). I didn't have many scare stories last time, but this time I'm past the magic 35 years (and my probability for Down's has doubled) so I'd rather be prepared...

Lily - pleased things are looking a bit more promising.

TTC40 - so pleased at such a fabulous response from your parents, hope the holiday goes well.
  • fingers crossed for you lilymay, good luck for tomorrow

TTC hope you have a lovely holiday

Pigpen hope OH is being calmer today

AFM feeling better today. I have put a countdown on my desktop, 18 days to go until scan time!

Probably very little that would be relevant to someone who is not on pg number 18, 5 sections, failing kidneys.. but as they cannot provide the stats to back up their argument I am not inclined to believe a word they say..

eg.. higher risk of haemorrhage.. which is rubbish most people who have PPH it is their first.

Afternoon all. Had my first lie in in what feels like forever today, and feel much better for it. Have not been sleeping well due to ridiculously vivid dreams. Good to see people getting scans and scan dates - mine is 25th March, I think I'll be about 11 +3 at that time. My letter said don't drink anything extra but don't go to the toilet for an hour before the appointment.

Lillymay, fingers crossed for you that everything will be ok.
TTC - what a lovely story. Tears in my eyes at that.

I'm supposed to be going out tonight - I've managed to avoid nights out so far, but can't do it forever. I think I'll tell people I've given up drinking for lent. They know I've been on a health kick so it's not so much of a stretch I guess.

I keep looking round the house and thinking there's so much that needs doing. I best make a start: decluttering programmes off the Sky+ is not decluttering, as much as I would like it to be.

Re: first scans, last time ( with DS) the midwife had rang me up to arrange the appt and she said to come with a full bladder. So I did but they kept us waiting about an hour. So uncomfortable- not good when they are pressing on your lower abs. So this time I am not going to make an effort to fill my bladder, I'll just have a cup of tea in the waiting room.
TTC I am not made up for you, enjoy your holiday.
So time for a moan. Very sore with shingles. DH went out last night. Came in at 4 am without his key. DS had already had me up a few times so not best pleased. Then I was up early with DS and it has taken til now for DH to get out of bed. Fed both of them and have now removed myself. Just feel I should be the one getting looked after. Anyway rant over, better on here than at my husband who will not receive it well in his current condition.
