Well, I have one very lazy little bean! Everything OK, saw little heartbeat and arms and legs, but little bean was so curled up they couldn't even date me properly, let alone do Nuchal test! Tried getting up and going for a walk, wiggling my hips, jumping up and down and bean would wriggle about, but go back to sleep before they had a chance to measure him! I also have a tilted uterus, which apparently makes it difficult to scan me.

Have to go back a week on Monday for another scan. As a rough approximation, they think I am 11+6 (2 days behind what I thought), but they didn't even write it in my notes, so back on the 18th for another scan.

ETA - Lilymay, so sorry to hear your news, sending you lots of hugs xxx

So far I've had buccastem, metroclopramide, a short stay in hospital for dehydration, the most amazing antisickness pill which they wouldn't prescribe outwith the hospital as its for chemo patients and currently on cyclizine. They basically said there is nothing else to give me.

I was sick from 6 weeks all the way through to the labour with my first so I'm hoping that this disappears before then.

I'm on cyclizine twice or three times a day regardless and then take metroclopramide on top if I still feel nauseous. Not nice, but it'll all be worth it :)

You have the antibodies to the virus from previously having chickenpox so baby will be fine.. it is a horrible illness though so you should stay at home and look after yourself.

It is contagious until spots have scabbed over so it would be best to avoid work and others who it might be harmful to for a bit.

Thanks all, I have stayed home from work today, pain is worse today anyway so wouldn't have coped. Just worried how long it will last as I am a secondary teacher and was doing "controlled assessments" with Year 11. But it's beyond my control i guess. Thanks to everyone for the support.

    Hi Ladies

Just a quick one this morning, hope everyone is ok? I have an early scan today at 5.30 and am so anxious!! It’s ridiculous as I have no reason to be worried but I am and it’s driving me insane! At least I am at work and hopefully can take my mind off it for most of the day.

Please will you lovely ladies keep your fingers crossed for me? I promise if all is well I will stop going on and being negative!

Hugs to those who need them and good luck to any others who have scans today xx
I remember feeling like this on my first pregnancy. Sending you best wishes, it'll be OK!

Lilymay so sorry to hear what you are going thru x

Nikki really feel for you with the sickness. Every pregnancy is different but it is true that many (particularly other women) can be totally unsympathetic and forget that some people can be really ill with it. Touch wood this pregnancy has given me less nausea than last time.

I got my scan date through in the post yesterday

    21st March at 2pm - getting excited!

I should be 12+1 by then

That's the same date as mine Nessie - hopefully we can both celebrate good news
  • big hugs lilymay, hope everything turns out OK

Bella glad your scan went well

bride2be, hope bean behaves for the next scan!

AFM I'm feeling a bit down about the things I can't eat and feeling like March 27th (scan date) is too far away. I'm getting worried again about bean.
