Good luck Bella and Bride2B for your scans tomorrow :-)

Betty that sounds tough, they might have just been trying to be genuinely helpful or share things that were important to them without meaning to worry you. I know I find it really hard to share my history with people because its not all happy endings and rainbows and sunshine but it does mean that not many people, even close friends know. If you wanted another perspective on it, I think it was brave of the HR lady to tell you her story and maybe it helped her?

Thank you :) I absolutely agree, and think she was mainly telling me not to tell people too early, like she did, just in case. She certainly didn't mean any harm, it's just the combination of the two conversations has just been sitting heavily on me ever since. And she's not going to know that I'm already on a knife-edge since I had a miscarriage last year either. I think I've just had one of those days!

Yeah I know how worrying it is being pg after a mc without people adding to it. Its easy to get caught up in all the stress but you are still so much more likely to have a beautiful healthy baby than anything else- I find that reassuring :-)

Now I've eaten (been nauseous since 4:30) and sat up for an hour to aid indigestion (which doesn't seem to have helped), I'm thirsty and craving mini milks - which I don't normally like. How random. After a mc though, I'm really happy to be feeling so ill (well, not so much when my head is in the toilet). :-)

After suffering pain for a couple of days (skin feels like I've been scalded and few spots have now appeared) went to docs and diagnosed with Shingles! This was my fear as I know pregnant women are supposed to avoid this. Don't know where its come from, probably school i guess. Anyway doc was a little unsure about treatment for a pregnant woman but her little book said i can have normal antivirals and internet says baby will be OK as I've had chickenpox before. Since she has never come across a pregnant woman with Shingles before and had to use the internet I'm still a little worried. But not much i can do about it so will have to hope for the best. Will have to contact work tomorrow and they will email all staff to avoid me if they might be pregnant- really its almost funny, when you take into account they don't know I'm pregnant yet.

Fluffysox - is shingles not contagious? If it is it may be worth taking a few sick days to rest up!

Fluffysox - asda didn't have mini milk but they did have orange juice lollies, Oreo ice cones, calippo's, 2 x Ben & Jerrys and magnums! My freezer is now full - think I should be ok for the next week :-).

You have the antibodies to the virus from previously having chickenpox so baby will be fine.. it is a horrible illness though so you should stay at home and look after yourself.

It is contagious until spots have scabbed over so it would be best to avoid work and others who it might be harmful to for a bit.
