Sorry to be depressing but someone I know took her daughter & it was a missed miscarriage and that was hard to explain so personally I wouldn't however what you could do if she's old enough is have her wait outside until you get the ok and then call her in? I know some hospitals don't allow children but if yours does, that's what I'd do.

I agree with this. Unless the child is 14,15,16 and able to understand that all might not be okay, personally I wouldn't take them. I seem to remember my hospital letter saying something about children under 12 not being allowed in anyway because scans are ultimately for medical purposes and sonographers don't need the distraction. They also only allow 1 'guest' though so maybe mine are just unusually strict.

We had to take DS to the sexing scan because we had no childcare and what a total PITA he was. He's really into the baby and tries to use my Doppler on himself all the time but he just wasn't interested and spent 20 minutes trying to get out of the room, screaming and being a general pain!

    Hope everyone is ok.

I'm feeling so sad re sams news :-( def making me think about getting an early scan now just so I can see if all ok.

Time in pregnancy world seems to drag! No real symptoms still other than the upset tummy and tiredness .

Going on a weeks hol Tom with hubbie and his children and our friends and their daughter. The other couple know - am going to say I have a urine infection and meds so can't drink to kids - unless anyone has a better excuse??? Xx

The retching has started and I woke up so many times in the night feeling ill. I don't think I've got long til the puking starts now!

Ttc 39 would their kids really ask why you aren't drinking? If the parents know then that's all I'd be concerned about. But medication is a good idea I don't think you even need to go into details of what it is.

Jox I'm the same, had a couple of queasy morning but that's it and I think that was just in my mind! Oh and my boobs feel like lead weights, I feel like they're going to make me topple over - I used to have big boobs before I lost a load of weight so you'd think my body wouldn't be bothered but oh boy!

I'm really worried we are going to meet the midwife next week and she will tell me I'm not pregnant and then scold me for wasting her time (despite 4 positive tests!) and then I move on to be petrified about the san and something being wrong. How do you all keep so positive and not worry like crazy?!

Also, I am definitely a breakfast person - last Saturday I hung out at my parents as I didn't see them on my actual birthday and when they asked what I wanted I told them a fry up with all the trimmings and I ate more than anyone else (and I'm the smallest now!) - but since Sunday I've not really been too bothered and have just about managed a dry waffle or one with a little jam on.

Was drinking bucket loads too but that seems to have slowed again now.

I seriously need to stop over thinking all the little details!!!

So sorry Sam, thinking of you x

I feel quite normal and that worries me a bit. Hoping its just because its really early, and it'll all hit me soon. Although OH has said my nipples look different(?!) random I know! My trousers feel really right too.

I couldn't get a drs appointment till next Wednesday so I'm planning on doing another clear blue on Saturday to see what it says (if I can be that patient). I'm sat at work but can't stop thinking about it at the moment...I think it's worse because you can't talk about it. I've told one friend, she's currently 8 months pregnant so completely gets how I'm feeling at the moment so it's nice to have someone to fire questions at until I can get to the doctors!

Changed my scan to 4th September and yes I think its best I don't take DD just in case heaven forbid something is wrong. She does know I'm pg but at least if she isn't with me I have time to come to terms with it before I have to tell her. It will mean I'll have to go on my own as OH can't get any time off work I don't mind I just feel sorry for OH not being there :(

Feeling very tired this week I wake up tired :( but apart from that feel fine. Looking forward to going on hols next week :D
