Welcome and congratulations to the new ladies!
Happy birthday HungryKitty!Hope it turns out to be a nice day with lots of cake! :bdaycake:
No idea about the pre-natal vitamins Zippy. I'm taking the Seven Seas ones and I'm sure they're making me feel worse than when I was just taking folic acid on its own. Might switch back for a week as an experiment.
Fran, I'm useless at work right now too! I'm just too tired and spaced out to be of any use to anyone!I was on a course Monday and yesterday and can I remember any of it this morning?! Can I heck!
Luckily my manager knows so she's cutting me some slack.
ETA: Have a nice restful day today and try not to worry about work!

Morning Ladies,
when i was at my booking in appointment i checked with the midwife which vitamins you definitely needed to take and was told folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin D, so maybe if one with iron is causing issues you could just take those? most places usually have them on 3 for 2 anyway

I am so anxious about going to the midwife this morning
I can't find where I put the test last time I hid them and now I just feel worried and sick roll on 11am!
Just take each day as it comes.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I'm a bit teary-eyed!
I made a faux pas last year on the TTC threat, I'd been TTC for about 9 months, I'd been reading the thread but didn't post as I'm more of a reader than a writer, and when I got my BFP I was so over the moon I thought I'd announce it there just to give some hope to others...(I'm so naive!). It didn't go down too well with some so I slunk off again and then had a miscarriage a few days later (no connection!!)
This time round I've been taking about 5 folic acid tablets a day (400mg each) for months, been BD-ing like mad every month but disappointed every month....went on a 2 week hol with hubby in May to see his parents in another country, I walked in lovely countryside for an hour every day with his mum, ate well, slept well and whaddayaknow...I got preggers
Let's hope it's here to stay, but what will be will be, I'm late 30's, no kids, 3rd pregnancy.... bit worried cos I've got a 7cm fibroid but I'll just have to take it one day at a time.
I've gone off coffee, am down to 1 tea a day but I'm going off that too, taking folic acid, iron, berocca and pregnacare every day, hope I'm not overdosing!
Thanks for all your support ladies, wishing you all a healthy happy pregnancy too xx0 -
welcome Jox fingers crossed it is a sticky xxxJust take each day as it comes.
Bump due 18th January :j0 -
Loads of women seem to get constipation in pregnancy (especially around the stage I'm at now, 12 wks tomorrow I think) fran-o but the extra iron definitely doesn't help! I've been taking acidophilus capsules before meals to try and help with digestion and it does seem to help it through. The reflux is also a pg symptom but I'm not touching gaviscon-the mere idea makes me wanna hurl!-and tbh I get reflux in normal life too, just far less!
Can't remember who said about ibs, but I have that too and was the opposite to constipated when the pg first started! Up until about 6 weeks I was more regular than I've ever been lol.
Scan on Monday! So excited...and scared!
Jox, I think you jumped in (on the ttc thread) at a touchy time anyway - there's a spat like that periodically and I'm sure noone would've wished the mc on you and would've felt terrible about it if they'd known. Anyway, best of luck with this pregnancy and hope that fibroid doesn't cause any issues. Can you get an early appointment for reassurance etc? I think all those supplements may be trying to do the same job, btw, and might be a bit overkill...?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Don't take iron unless you need it! It's just as dangerous to OD on iron as it is to be deficient. Also, I'm sure pregnacare has folic acid in so you don't nee to be taking individual supplements of that.....
I'll do the lists when I find my laptop
Edit: Cross posted with Zippy. Yes, maybe overkill on the pills!14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Happy Birthday HungryKitty!!
I did 1 hour at work today before I begged to take it as a holiday and come home. I felt so ill. My stomach was cramping so much I was yelping! Turns out I was just constipated.. doh, I feel much better now but there is no way I'm going back into work to admit that!
My sickness isn't letting up either, I have to force myself to nibble things. I noticed that Pregnacare was making me feel worse so I've just changed to Tesco own brand. I'll let you know if it makes a difference.
At work EVERYBODY knew that I was pregnant. I have only told my manager and 2 people who I asked to keep it quiet. Somebody said, "We were all talking about it yesterday!" GRR! I am so annoyed! They know before our families and friends know.0 -
