Oof Amy I'm hoping and praying I get morning sickness as I didn't have it with the miscarriage and I feel bad about that now lol hope it eases for you soon x x
I'm so snappy! And can't stand being in the car for long. Proper high maintenance atm lol DH is tired and grumpy from emergency overtime so we're not a good combination atm lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Hi guys
Sorry I haven't posted in yonks... I've been lurking both here and over on the TTC thread and there has been some fabulous news over there
Not a lot to report here, Amy you are being so brave with the "morning" sickness, hope you haven't been rushed in. I haven't been sick and don't feel too bad but have been drinking lots of ginger beer ... think it's a psychological thing as any nausea cancelled out by the ginger must be reinstated by the bubbles :rotfl:
We have an early private scan booked on Wednesday - only £59 and 20 mins drive away so hopefully all will be ok. Just wanted some reassurance before we go on holiday ... not had any problems or cause for concern, just impatient I think! This is waaaay TMI but I dipped a cheapie HPT in the loo water after I'd done a wee and the test line was much darker than the control so hoping that's a good sign! I'm about 7+4 ish I reckon...0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you have had a good weekend. I can remember when I was pregnant with my son 9 years ago, I had a metalic taste in my mouth. It was terrible. I could not eat anything or drink anything to get rid of the taste which was all day long and this made me gag constantly. When I wasn't gagging I was sleeping and vice versa. If anyone is suffering from that I totally can remember that like it was yesterday - felt like I was sucking on a penny!
TeamLowe - I was a grumpy pants last week and I realise now I was quite rude to my OH. I am quite highly strung and I worry all the time about so much, but I need to relax. Nothing wrong with being high maintenance think about all the chemicals and hormoanes running through your body to feed your little bean!
Mincepiemonster - I hope your early scan goes well - I found one near where I am but its £150.00 so not sure......
No side affects yet which I am expecting if that sounds silly. The only thing is I am weeing a lot and my tummy looks a little bloated.
I reckon I am 4 +3 which is very early although it could be a few days either way.

TeamLowe - I hope you get sufficient symptoms to not worry, but few enough to still function
As it happens I only be this constantly sicky at around the 7 - 8 weeks mark so it may well show up in the next few weeks. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one being delightful to DH though, hormones and tiredness have a lot to answer for I think! Thinking of you and hoping that this is a very sticky bean and stress-free pregnancy. Hopefully the midwife will be helpful on Thursday.
Mincepiemonster - I really hope you have a good scan experience on Wednesday and you're able to enjoy your holiday.
Star - Feeling sick even if you don't actually vomit can make you feel really rough, you're not a fake! If it's affecting what you can do and getting to you then your GP may be able to give you something to help, although I think they an sometimes be a bit reluctant.
Lily - Hope you're well and feeling positive :grouphug:
Birdie - Are you lurking??? Come join
Afm - I really fancied DH's ice cream earlier so made one for myself, and it seems to have stayed down! :j Currently sipping on water and feeling much better so hopefully hospital will be avoided for tonight and I can try a different medication tomorrow. I think I might treat myself to a long bath and an early night tonight.
Welcome to all the newbies - thinking of those who've had sad news :grouphug:0 -
Thanks Amy, I'm feeling okay. A quick 2 second listen with my doppler (DH gave it back to me) every day helps to reduce the stress. I can put it on and find the HB straight away so thats nice. Next scan is 9am Tue morning and I am looking forward to it as OH can make this one
Hugs and sympathy to everyone feeling rubbish. I've had virtually no sickness and very few other symptoms all the way through so far. Very thankful.
Yes, Birdie, come and join us
It always seems odd to me that early reassurance scans are so expensive. All you can see at such an early stage is a blob with a h/b and to charge people £100+ for that is wrong in my opinion. Atleast at 12 weeks+ there is so much detail to see so it's perhaps 'worth' a bit more.
I found a lovely Thank You card from paperchase the other day that I'm going to give to the EPU team at my last scan with them. They have been so good to me and I am so grateful to them. Need to find a nice box of choccies too.
Does anyone have anymore dates for the list?14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Hello everyone!
Can't believe I can actually post in here but I got my BFP yesterday! :j Want to tell everyone (but I know I can't) and feel like I did when I lost my virginity; like I have a big flashing sign above my head saying 'Notice anything different?!' :rotfl:
Off to the GP at 8.50 to tell them the good news (the lady I'm seeing is the Doctor I was planning on talking to in September for a referral to a FS).
Pretty sure this is all in my head because I'm now looking out for symptoms after feeling pretty normal yesterday but I can't stomach my (decaf!) coffee this morning and feeling a little queasy already. I'm a total coffee fiend at work so I've no idea how to tell them I'm not drinking it any more without them guessing why!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

I can't tell you how pleased I am to see you here Birdie! We seem to be accumulating lots of the "longer-serving" members of the TTC thread on here, which is lovely.
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Any ideas how far along you are?
Not sure if I can offer any suggestions for what to tell your colleagues about the coffee :rotfl: Maybe tell them you've got a migraine? I always avoid caffeine and feel a bit bleugh at the smell when I have one.
P.S. Be prepared to be somewhat underwhelmed at the GP appointment... maybe yours is great (I really hope so), but it seems to be a common complaint on here0 -
Thanks Amy!
I'm prepared for the underwhelmed-ness, I always leave feeling that way anyway, can't imagine it being different this time!
Do we calculate how far along we are by last AF or OV? I'm embarrassed to admit that I spent so researching actually *getting* PG I never found out what to do once it happened!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Your GP / midwife will do it by AF until the dating scan, but ov is more accurate if you have non 28 day cycles. The NHS website has a calculator which is the same as your GP will probably use0
