Well I've had the scan and all is well - CRL 1.6 cm so measuring exactly for 8 weeks and heart rate of 158... we're very relieved! I'm hoping everyone else's scans and results are as good, especially thinking of you cpoir and Lily x

Small update: Met up with the midwife on tuesday. I was right to be sceptical about a standard scan at 8 wks here, but she gave me the number to ring to ask for an early scan (to check for an ectopic). They were lovely when I rang and completely understood the need for one when my medical history was explained, told me that 7/8 weeks was the more dangerous time but I'll've been scanned before then. I even got to pick my appointment! It's going to be on thursday morning, and we should be able to see a heartbeat by then too. :) I did another cb digi yesterday and got the 3+ right on schedule, which heartened me :) I do already have a uti though, and had to go to the emergency docs yesterday for a prescription

Glad everything is well amyloofoo :D

    Lurking for your updates cpoir

Brilliant news Amy. I think out due dates are going to end up being almost identical :) c-section at 37 weeks should mean I have a new addition for Christmas Day.

Glad you have a scan on Thu Zippy. Hope you get a good clear scan and get to see the heartbeat. How many weeks are you now?

AFM - Had a rough few days worrying but I was wretching over the toilet this morning and i am so greatful.

From ov date 6+3, from LMP 6+1. On the scan day I'll be 7+0/6+5 so it'll be interesting to see how I measure, at this one and the (hopefully) 12wk scan.

I had started to feel less nauseous (high progesterone makes me nauseous anyway), but then almost puked on my bed at 6.30am today :o so methinks MS isn't far away... Dh laid a bet, last week, that it would start on wednesday for some reason :p

Yay for ovulating early in your cycle. I worked out I must have ov'ed on CD11 with DS and I ended up getting put forward at the scan which was nice. Are you due the middle of Jan then?

I still feel very sick. It's after I sleep or lie down for a long time that I end up feeling very sick. Atleast I know what I need to do to get the symptoms started. I am so so worried about Tuesday. Maybe it's the stress of that making me feel sick. I think I'm 8+0 today (Monday) but it's all a guess.

I hope your MS stays away for as long as possible :)

Morning everyone. Had a great day yesterday. Used the tickets we won for the baby show. Was brilliant. Took my mom with us, she was very surprised and happy. Not telling anyone else till next weekend after my scan. She has promised to keep it quiet for us :) x

Grrr, I had just calmed down on the work situation when I was woken up by my boss leaving an answermachine message asking what I'm doing about returning to work this week and where my sick notes are. That's all well and good, except that I've been signed off for this week as well (which she knows) and am on holiday next week (which she also knows)... and my sick notes have been posted to her, as I emailed her last week to say. The whole tone of it was snotty and just unnecessary, as she'd know what was going on if she'd just checked the rota.

Now, thinking realistically, her 'tone' is just the tone she takes with everyone so I don't need to feel hard done by... and she's perfectly entitled to call of course - she didn't know I was having a nap as I've spent most of the last 24 hours being sick. Fortunately I scanned the sick notes before posting them, so I can email her a copy if they've got lost. She knows I have issues with anxiety though, so I can't help thinking she could have approached all this a bit more sensitively, without making it seem as though she thinks I'm just off for the sake of it and am deliberately trying to annoy her.

I know I need to stop being so fragile, but I feel pants as it is :o

Anyway, enough whinging - so pleased to see you here BZ and will be thinking of you tomorrow Lily. Hope you had a good time at the Baby Show Amy.

    Hi BZ!:)
I think im 6+2 today so it seems were close together. Although thats from ov, from lmp im 13wks!

Nice to see you joining us.

All the best for tomorrow lily. Hopefully ul hav some pics to show us.

Baby show sounds great Amy. Prob makes it all seem real!

Amyloo, am i right thinking you work for the NHS? I do too and your boss is not permitted to contact you to enquire about a return date if you have been signed off sick. Something to bear in mind though, if you prob wont b returning for the next few wks you will need a line for your A/l week. If you take hols and then put in another line this will count as 2cases of sickness then. You prob know this already!! I know its not as important when pregnant as your sickness wont count however i know they have a policy for enforced maternity leave due to sickness. Not something you need to remotely worry about now but just to bear in mind!

Hope i havent added to the anxiety.

Cpoir, how did you get on today?

Feeling pants the past few days but really really glad i am!

I do indeed... you would expect better from them, but I ended up calling back today (as I had another answerphone message) and my manager basically said I need to get 'sorted out' as it's impacting on staffing levels and she said I should come back as I'll get less sick pay now (because obviously I'm only off for the money) :o Quite why that should be my concern when I'm off work poorly is beyond me, but the fact is that I just can't do it - I'm barely managing to stay awake for 12.5 hours at a time (and certainly not managing to not vomit), let alone working in what is a physically and emotionally demanding job.

I'm going to go back to my GP and ask for something to help with the vomiting, but beyond that I don't really know what I can do :o

How unhelpful your manager is. Some people are off sick for the first 12 weeks because their initial symptoms are so bad. I hope you're logging the number of times she contacts you and what she says, just in case she gets difficult later on.

See what your GP says, but ultimately you should not feel pressured to go back until you're well enough - regardless of the inconvenience it causes to her staffing problems
