I became a Starbucks victim...

Crossposted with you, Azari, and you're right -- we're all making assumptions, but it's not possible to tell either way from the original post. Either SB did something wrong or they didn't; without the OP to clarify there's no way totell for certain.NSD May 1/150

I do enjoy a good hypothetical slap fight.0

I agree we cannot be absolutely certain but it does seem more probable that the OP did ask for skimmed milk simply because the unpleasantness she would suffer if given non skimmed would tend to make her extra cautious. (After all, if she avoids the place when it's busy on the grounds she can't trust them to follow instructions she's clearly taking it very seriously.)There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Starbucks made a mistake.
However...
If the OP doesn't trust them to do it correctly 50% of the time. Why does the OP continue to go there?0 -

Yeah Starbucks tea is awful anyway. Go to Tim Hortons!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. And for all the numpties who made fatuous comments about SB being a coffee company:
1) Just because your main focus is one product does not entitle you to sell other things that are substandard.
2) The reaction of those who cannot properly digest dairy fat can be extremely unpleasant so this is not a trivial matter.
3) Is it beyond your wit to work out that if they have mixed up the milk then they will make the same mistake with people sho want skimmed milk in their coffee?
It's not rocket science to make your own tea if you have health issues that preclude consuming certain products, or drink something other than tea or coffee if you are out having lunch with with a friend. Plenty of people with food issues - Muslim, vegetarian, peanut allergy, coeliac - take extra precautions when they are out in order to avoid risks.
If you check the website Starbucks do claim to use whole milk. Clicked through from the UK site http://globalassets.starbucks.com/assets/365D87B449604BABA7D9986EB3BAA7C8.pdf

Do explain how tea is "the basics" in a COFFEE house, it is the OP's first sentence that I find amusing.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Has the OP been edited as there is nothing in there about a medical reaction to full fat milk? Just that the OP can only have skimmed milk - perhaps they are on a diet or for religious reasons or for a medical reaction?
It's also not clear about whether the top up was full fat milk.
When it isn't clear, people do seem to like to assume.0 -

You need to apply just a tiny bit of intelligence. For a company that offers every kind of fancy drink on the planet they don't half get the basics wrong!
I can only drink skimmed milk and tend to avoid them when it's busy as I can't see them make my drink.
I got a tea with hot skimmed milk but later needed more milk as it was too strong. I asked for more and I assumed she'd just put a lot in as it was super milky... oh 10 minutes later...
Being on a diet or having religious objections doesn't usually provoke a reaction ten minutes later. It's also not clear about whether the top up was full fat milk.
When it isn't clear, people do seem to like to assume.
Again, (most) people are going to use a little intelligence. If someone posts that they can only drink skimmed milk and that they have some reaction 10 mins after being given milk that they thought was skimmed, but was in a jug so they could not be certain, it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to make the logical connection. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
