Can neighbour do this?

You do realise what the most likely outcome is don't you?
It seems to me that whenever you come to sell your house you are going to have to declare that your neighbour is a nuisance and if he ever wants to sell his house he will have to declare that he has had problems with his neighbour (you) so both of you will have problems selling.
You may be going down the road of ensuring you are neighbours for life!
I know which one I will feel sorry for .....0 -

It was not me who called him a lowlife it was another poster, its not my fault this bloke is illegally running a business!!
Really? Because in your other posts you say you are living in your partner's house, you don't contribute financially and you're worried about him kicking you out when he discovers you're going bankrupt.
Looks like you may need to get your own house in order (pun intended) before worrying about the neighbour. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Shame on you. He is showing that wonderful entrepreneurial spirit that this country needs in this time of economic downturn. I bet he votes Tory.
Every one knows the more you earn, they less tax you pay.0 -
Threads like this always remind me of a situation I saw a long time ago.
A couple purchased a house, it was within barking distance of a kennels, not too close but close enough. As a result the price was a lot less than if there had been no kennels.
After moving in they began proceedings to have the kennels closed down due to noise.Nice to save.0 -
Just tell people how he's a nuisance and they might actually take your side here. At the moment you're being very cryptic which is why people don't give a !!!!.0

I wouldn't like someone fixing cars outside my house day and night, but I'd go get a job or something to minimise disruption. There may never have been 20K in the house... he could be pretending so he can claim on insurance, that is, if it is possible. If he is getting cash handed to him and people have seen it, that could be why he was burgled.
If you are about to go bankrupt, you seriously have better things to worry about than what he is doing.
Your partner that owns the house, do they mind them being there? Because if they don't they may not want you to register a complaint with the council and have to declare it on the sellers-property-information form in the event of moving. They may be the person to consult about whether to report the neighbour.
Sorry you are having a hard time with neighbours and financially, hope things get better. No debts. No credit cards. No store cards. No mortgage. No CCJs. High credit rating intact. Living frugally. Want to start business soon. Trying to keep head above water; while standing on own feet; staying within the law; and not falling into debt. Looking to raise income, who isn't?0 -
If your neighbour is running an illegal carwash/car garage it is almost certain he will be discharging oil and chemicals into the storm drains outside your house! These will lead to a watercourse and cause pollution and possible fish kill, if you report him to the Environment Agency and/or your local water board they will be able to investigate if he is causing pollution. If he is causing pollution he will be closed down immediately and prosecuted, this will probably lead to HMRC being informed as well. See cases here where the EA has prosecuted companies for causing oil pollution (link removed as new user) if you are looking to contact the EA their number is 03708 506 506 i know this post is almost a year old but if you are still having problems this may come in handy!
Hope it helps0
