You have my full sympathy. Report the git - trading standards, council, police, HMRC, etc. Report him to death. Lowlifes like him shouldn't be allowed to ruin a residential area.

My local Councillor is fully aware this bloke is a bloody nusiance. I certainly will report him but need to leave it a while.

I will also be obtaining a copy of his Land Registry to see if he has broken any convenant on their, and if he has I can also report him directly to the Land Registry!!

Police have also told me he has previous; I can easily obtain a copy of his police record online to see what type of trouble he has been in before!!

If I had known about this mobile mechanic I would not have entertained buying the property!!

He gets paid cash in hand, plus he had £20k in cash stolen during a house burglarly in 2012!!

Put it this way, as he doesnt have planning permission by the local Council I'm pretty certain he doesnt pay tax on his undeclared income!!

That is a pretty big assumption based on no evidence whatsoever.

It is not an assumption; bloke's partner told me about the cash going missing, and the police were investigating it!!

Plus the fact I have witnessed people hand over cash when they pick the vehicle up!!

And why have that amount of cash lying around in the house in the first place; smells a bit fishy if you ask me!!

Consistently posting nonsense on here isn't going to stop him doing anything. You need to report it to the relevant poeple. After you've done that you need to get a life and stop worrying about other people's business. I can't stand busy bodies like you.

The Land Registry will do nothing.

It's the council who will enforce the fact that he doesn't have permission to run a business of that nature from the residential premises. Start with keeping a diary of the noise and nuisance - the council need records if they want to enforce anything.

Oh and if you make a complaint the council aren't allowed to tell them who made the complaint. The complaint can't be made anonymously. However it's very easy for the person who the complaint is about to work out who it's likely to be. If the person then threatens you in anyway because you made the complaint it's a police matter.

This is irrelevant to your complaints about nuisance.

Stick to the facts of the matter, keep records and then your complaint is likely to be taken seriously.

Rant, don't keep records and try and report anonymously and you will be ignored.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Will do what you say, I can easily keep deatils of car registration numbers, what he does to the vehicle and how long he has vehicle for.

Other problem is as well is oil pollution; he has spilt oil all other the public footpath and on the road!!

I am going to ask the Councillor if there is any historic problems i.r. did the previous occupier of my address ever make any comlaints as I need to establish this because the vendor failed to declare this mobile mechanic being a potential problem!!

Paying in cash means nothing most traders/self employed get paid in cash. My OH often gets cash payment and is just as happy with a cheque its up to the person you did work for. However what most traders don't do is say cheaper for cash and not declare it. My OH does an invoice for every job-even if paid straight away and in cash. This mean we have a record that makes it easier to do the tax returns and has a trail for HMRC to check should they ever decide to ask the customers-alot of whom are small local businesses so will in turn use invoices for their returns.

TBH the suggestion that paying in cash is suggestive of not paying tax is utterly wrong. Having large sums of cash in the house again may just mean they prefer to keep cash at home, not in a bank or perhaps they only pay the cash into the bank every so often.

HMRC aren't going to look into if a business is operating legally as long as they pay up the correct tax.

TBH you need to pass on the details to the various authorities and let them deal with it
