Maybe make her keep the school stuff downstairs too, or if it's little ones getting their hands on it put a hook high up for her to hang it on. When DS1 started school and DS2 was a toddler used to have to do that with his school things or 'Doodles' would draw all over them. Leading to DS1 having tantrums over spoilt things.
No food or drink usually gets past the door here either, there has been an odd occasion I have caught them in the room with a packet of crisps as they have snook them up but rarely find anything else food related since I cracked down on that. Both boys have a bin in their room which I find they use without a problem thankfully.
AnWsMum and Becca you both deserve a hug, I know how awful it can be when all the work you put in is pointless, like on my list of jobs today after doing the boys beds etc they have stripped all the sheets, cases, duvet and covers off and threw them on the floor to play on this morning. Went from tidy to bomb site in 5 minutes. One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
So far today I've done nothing other than lil_me's friday extra. I've slobbed around, read an entire book and watched tv.
And the best bit is I don't feel the slightest bit guilty about it either because having some me time was on the list
The BF is going over to a mates tomorrow at some point to sort out his car, so I'm going to get stuff done then.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
Hi guys :hello:
AnW'sMum I feel like that sometimes too, think it's normal, try not to get too down about it, life's too short.
aimeelister Congratulations on the new job, well done
Well, I've been a busy bee and the house is looking sparkly at the moment, having no pc helps though *giggles*. Hoping to buy a new base unit on Monday (bare bones) then all I'll have to do is install all the software and I should be up and running :j .
Bought myself a new dry mop thing from Asda the other day as I was fed up of scrubbing the floors on my hands and knees, and I have to say I'm very impressed, all I do is spray the Stardrops then mop over and the good thing is you just rinse it through when you've finished, must be my best buy for this year. :T
Have to go now as I'm on OH's pc and have to go back round home soon, but I do like to stay in touch with all you lovely people. I miss you
Hugs to everyone, and I'll see you, hopefully, on Monday. Yay!

Oh Becca - I feel a similar post from me in a few years, they are only littles at the moment but I swear somedays those teenage hormones are limbering up (they are only 4 and 2 so god help me when the hormones really kick in). Is it an idea to link the state of the room to their pocket money ??
Anyway, my list for today
S & S lounge, kitchen, lounge
Hoover hall & stairs
DD1 to birthday party (she decided I had to stay so 2 hours wasted - though the magician was pretty good:D)
Removal man delivered boxes
Listed chest freezer, tumble dryer and few other bits on freecycle
Packed away Little Happy Land stuff - if not noticed will be listed on ebay come xmas;)
Sorted few boxes in shed
Made list of jobs to do at bungalow tomorrow
Trampoline put in car ready to move tomorrow
Buy card and post to Spain for Dads birthday
Right that little lot has been done need to send DH to shop for some milk and bottle of white I think (wine that is not vinegar:p )
Lil-me When mums dogs cough (she has 10:eek: ) she gives them a spoonful of honey - does the trick everytime, the pup may lick it as its sweet
Happy weekend0 -
Hello everyone.
riversidejo- hi, hope you find this thread inspiring, it's so helpful and everyone here is supportive and truly fab.
lil_me- hope your little pup gets over her cough soon and that all works out for you going away.
boston- hope the viewing went well
solway and granny- I'd live in my PJ's if I could!
AnW's- hope you DD is feeling better this afternoon
Becca- big hugs to you. It can be demoralising when you work hard and others don't seem to appreciate what is done and they things they have.
I have a friend who removes items from her child's bedroom when they break the rules and they have to earn them back. She believes in 'if you don't respect them you can't have them'. Though saying that I'm not sure I could be as strict as she is!
Took DS to see Charlotte's Web this morning and I quietly sobbed as I didn't want him shouting out 'mum are you crying?' to the whole cinema!
From there we went into town to buy him sandals for our holiday.
Also dropped in to a Cruelty Free exhibiton and bought a new vegetarian cookbook which I'm just about to peruse.
The only thing I've had chance to do is put a load in the WM.
Sweet potatoes are cooking ready to be used for the topping to the cottage pie for tea.
Bought some buzy lizzies today which I want to get potted up and that's about all I'm aiming for today apart from a quick S&S to the kitchen after tea and a whizz round with the Dyson after DS and his friend have finished playing and walking in and out from the back garden every 2 minutes....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Becca,
My kids have been great until boys hormones set in (hte youngest two were the worst) and I felt I had no respect. So I hit them where it hurt the most. Their mobile phones, playstation and computer. I remembered I had a lockable cupboard and locked all those things away and they soon got off their back sides. The problem was I forgot where I hid the key:rotfl: :rotfl:
It was weeks before I found the key in my winter dressing gown pocket, they have been brill since but they are now aware that I will do the same again if things start to slip. I continually hear how girls are so much more difficult than boys so you have my sympathy. My eldest is a girl but she didn't have so much contact with other girls so maybe she just didn't pick up bad habits.

Yes I am.
The exhibition was good, loads to browse round, free food tastings, but in hindsight I would have been able to pay more attention to things if I'd gone on my own!...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Evening all
Not done loads since my last post; went out couponing without much luck. Wore my new shoes for the second time so of course it rained the whole time. I love my new shoes - they are in a tiger design but are so comfy and the kids think they are really cool.
Becca big hugs. DS1 is 13 so is an early teen and can drive me senseless. I have heard from heaps of people that 14 was the worse age so bracing myself. Only you will not what will work for your kids - different things work for all of mine as they have different triggers. However, I think that somethings are unacceptable for most of us so maybe start with the things that you find the biggest problem. It must be hormone city in your home. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Evening everyone!
Big hugs to becca. How's your mum by the way? last i remember she was in the hospital. As for the kids, i'm dreading that stage.
I feel quite energised by my day. I had a lovely time. I bumped into 2 ladies i did my PGCE course, and 5 people who work at the school i did teaching practice with. I could have got upset as someone who asked what i was up to, i said on maternity leave, and they asked when it was due! But i put it down to them being thoughtless as i don't look heavily pregnant.
I managed to:- feed Charlie, wash and dress him before i left
- sort out all his food for the day so DH just had to heat it up
- got one load through WM
- training day was 9:30-4:30
- DH picked me up, and we called in the ASDA on the way home
- unpacked shopping
- played with Charlie for an hour
- fed Charlie, washed him, cleaned his teeth
- got him ready for bed
He was so tired he was going to buy a takeaway for dinner, which i wouldn't let him do so he made sausage mash and beans. I guess i will have to wash up.
I think Charlie may actually have been quite hard work as he was grizzy with his teeth, and he doesn't stay still any more. Dh actually needed a snooze while he slept. I think he knows what i do now.
Anyway, we are watching Casino Royale, and i think we may finish off the bottle of wine we started last night, as it would be rude not to.
I think tomorrow will be a bit hectic too, as Charlie will be going to a birthday party, and i should also try and get to the hospital to visit my aunty, as she was starting to come round from the sedation. I also need to open up the 10 bags of exam papers to check them, and actually start marking.
Going to get along now and do the rest of my daily computer stuff before enjoying the rest of the night.
Michelle, x0
