We never got on with baby rice - I did a lot of root veg purees, then fruit after as I didn't want to get cracking with the sweet stuff off the bat... seems to have worked so far in that she'll eat almost anything (especially if it's someone else's food).
We worked out a solution to the slippery escaping banana problem this morning - slice banana in half while still in its skin, give baby the half with the stalk on, peeled down from the cut to the stalk end - use stalk as convenient banana-handle... I'm sure Lakeland need to make a slippery fruit holding device though!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
thank you marta, bought one yesterday
MP, yes it is helping a bit but stills shes very gassy. Had to speak to hv on friday about a referal to see a peditrician, she was not happy at all, said that babies cry, it is normal and also reflux ( i said i wanted to have her checked for this too). spent 15 minutes and i made my point, i feel no one is helping just saying babies cry/ shes just being naughty.
All what they care about is for her to return to her birth weight, surely when she comes to weigh her on monday, shes over 7lbs 1 and they stop coming, so far cancelled on me twice last week.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Dizzi, it wouldn't surprise me if Lakeland had already made such a device :rotfl:They did, after all, come up with a banana case.
I dip slippery fruit in milled flaxseed, oatmeal or similar to make them a bit easier to hold. It's a bit messy as the stuff goes everywhere, but it does mean she's able to eat things like mango rather than scream in frustration because it's escaped yet again0 -
Has anyone got one of those vouchers you receive from boots or mothercare to buy furniture? Mine are out of date now, I registered a bit too soon maybe! I'll ask in the pregnancy thread as well.

Hi, has anyone had experience of milk spots? My 5 week old has developed spots on his face and neck which the HV said were infected. The GP gave me fucidin cream to use for 5 days but we are on day 4 and they look worse. They are red and blotchy with white heads. They look awful. Am planning to go back to the GP but just wondered if anyones little one had the same?0

Could it be baby acne? Mine had milk spots (white ones) and heat rash (red spots all over where her face was in contact with my skin when sleeping). Nobody said anything about infection, although HV seemed to suggest it last week with a single one she has on her neck. I didn't do anything, just dry very well after cleaning her face and use a muslin between our skins when she slept on my chest. It all disappeared by the 6th-7th week. If it is baby acne, however, it might get worse before it gets better.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Yes I think it could be baby acne. It looks like teenage acne so its possible. Thanks for your reply.0

NHS says baby acne usually clears around 6 weeks, so you're almost there!!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Pelvises aren't meant to go crunch in the night - I literally can't lift my legs more than about 4cm off the ground today... considering the loo is upstairs - this is an issue!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Don't know about ikkle but I see sexymouse fairly regularly. She's fine and Jonathan's absolutely beautiful. Most of us can recall what an absolute legend she's been with persevering with breastfeeding and I can say that she's totally cracked it now. He is one gorgeous looking little boy
