Hi, has anyone had experience of milk spots? My 5 week old has developed spots on his face and neck which the HV said were infected. The GP gave me fucidin cream to use for 5 days but we are on day 4 and they look worse. They are red and blotchy with white heads. They look awful. Am planning to go back to the GP but just wondered if anyones little one had the same?

Freddie had terrible skin on his face at about this time. It lasted maybe 2 or 3 weeks and cleared up on its own. It's really common. Why did the HV say the spots were infected? Do you think they are?

Does it look like the rash in the link below? This is just normal baby acne and nothing to worry about, although if it is infected it might need some topical treatment.

Oh my goodness. Tried to get Theo's normal milk (C&G normal stage 1 infant milk) in Tesco today but the shelves were completely bare of both Cow & Gate and Aptamil. Looking online just now it appears that there is a national shortage of their comfort milks due to a shortage in one of the ingredients and no-one can get hold of it. I don't think there is a problem with the normal milks but it appears that people are panic buying and stocking up just in case. Why, oh why, do people do this? Makes it harder for everyone else. Boots have our milk in stock online but it's limited to 6 cartons per person "due to unprecedented demand" (I never buy this much in one go). Will have to trek to Boots tomorrow now to try and get some as we only have half a tub left. Grrrr.

    Evening all *waves*

Well after a day from hell yesterday, today has been wonderful :D 3 weetabix scoffed for breakfast, morning snack eaten, lunch and pudding eaten, dinner eaten and pudding! No tantrums or screaming and we also manged a lovely walk in the afternoon sun!

I actually feel relaxed tonight! Also got all my housework done this morning with the help of OH.

How awful Eleyn about the milk, Boots always have a limit online with the milk, have done for as long as A's been born, no idea why though :o

    Hi Ladies,

Not been on for a while but have been reading every day! Just never seem to get the time to post anymore! Just started back at work part time (though I've been off this week for half term!) and Poppy is being looked after by my Mum which is going great! I read on my phone at lunchtime but its not very easy to use it to post on.

Things all OK here, Poppy has lots of appointments with various Docs and Specialists but they all seem pleased with her. Her weight is still a massive problems (she weighs 16lb exact now and still isn't on the weight chart! I've just this week moved her on to cows milk, I asked her Dietitian and he said he feels she has a varied enough diet with her food that follow on milk is not needed. I still breastfeed her at night for her last feed which I'm not willing to give up yet! She should only just be a year if she came when she was supposed to instead of so early, so don't feel she is to 'old' to still be breastfed. She is still not sitting up or crawling but we are seeing a Physio 3 times a week so hopefully that will come soon!

Going to really try to post more seeing as you are such a nice bunch!

Going to try and post a recent pic if I can remember how!

    xxxx

Sadly it's the only meal of the day he eats as much at. He just loves weetabix, plus 14 hours without food makes him a starving wee man in the morning! :o

    I have 2 usually too :o I don't think I could manage 3 either!

Good to see you around :D and glad to hear you're back at work, hope it's going ok xx

Poppy loves her weetabix as well! Must be a man thing eating so many, my little brother has 6 each morning for his breakfast!!

Work is going well thanks, nowhere near as bad as I thought and I'm enjoying the adult conversations, I think knowing she is with my Mum really helps. Plus only being part time and having all the school hols is great! :T

    Hi all

Bamama, Aidens okay now thanks. First time in ages he hasnt had a cough or crackly chest so touch wood we are clear of it now. He was signed off by his doctor afew weeks ago too with just an inhaler for night time. Glad your little man is doing well too, he sounds like a fantastic little sleeper.

Glad to hear Poppy is doing okay, I bet your mum spoils her! Mine has Aiden on a thursday and he is spoilt rotten!
