Haven't read back sorry guys, just had to share my excitement with you - the milk blister has just gone! Only 10 weeks of feeding pain but its now gone after the last feed! I'd like to thank you all for listening to me moan about it for this long too0

Making bottles up, the safest way for advance making is what Mozzy posted.
The milk MUST be mixed with water hot enough to kill any bacteria.
So make how many up you'd need for a 24h period and then cool quickly in a basin or sink with cold water and into the fridge (not the door it's not cold enough)The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Quick question: my lo was having an average of 22-24oz a day, Yesterday she had 19.5oz and today only 16.5oz. She has been asleep most of the day but seemed happy when she was awake, although very tired. Could she be ill? Her temperature is ok, 36,5C. Should I worry? :-/
Edit: I meant 36.5 c, not 46.5 as originally posted!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Maybe going through a spurt Marta, it can be tiring for them. As long as she is having wet nappies I wouldn't worry. You will probably find in a few days she'l have a really hungry day to make up for it xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Having some issues here with George being a bit constipated :-( Apparently they sometimes try to increase feeds or feed for longer to try to push it through, and he seems to have one long feed about this time but the problem is he feeds for about an hour but brings quite a bit back up like he's eaten way too much :-( The HV said to give him a bottle with about 1oz of cooled, boiled water bit when I mentioned it to the breastfeeding support worker, she said he shouldn't need anything but milk & seemed to think water was bad advice :-( I really don't know what to do to ease it for him, I'm tempted to take some lactulose myself because I know once that works it's way into my milk it'll help him out (& me a bit too for that matter!). Massage & cycling his legs helps him to settle a bit but other than that we have no other ideas, can anyone help us out with some suggestions?moneypenny21 wrote: »Haven't read back sorry guys, just had to share my excitement with you - the milk blister has just gone! Just a quick question moneypenny, what's a milk blister? Sorry if that's a daft question but I've never heard of it :-/0 -

Do you have a chair that vibrates Mrs_B?
Brown sugar or pure OJ in water helps too. If he is in discomfort with it I'd offer something to help him personally. Breastfed babies can go up to 10 days without a dirty nappy and it's considered ok, but only if it's not bothering them. xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. mrs_b have you tried sitting him in a squat position? I tend to sit on the bed with my knees up and lean baby against my thighs and then slide him down so he's squatting, that seems to help. I wouldn't give water myself.
marta yay for the breadmaker - I find quick settings give worse tasting bread so we don't use them except there is one loaf with oats in it that is OK on that setting
poem - very interesting about the EC. I'd have to spend quite a while getting used to when he wees though. And being a he, I presume I'd need to point his willy into the toilet bowl too - hmmm not enough hands - two to hold him up, another to aim his wee... Might try it with poos though although babygrows are not the greatest for ease of whipping off. Plus we are using fitted reusable nappies so that's a wrap and a nappy to whip off, nevermind the liner and the booster! Still, worth a think anyway0 -

We have a fisher price chair that's a bit like a car & that vibrates sort of but that's not helping :-( It doesn't seem to bother him all day but he gets to about 7-8pm & then wants a monster feed of about an hour, rests for a little while, then sicks quite a bit back up & then struggles to settle & is really windy (bottom end!) like he's trying to poo :-(
I think I'll get on the lactulose & see if that helps him a bit.0 -
What age is he again? I found from 6-10 most nights A was like that when he was younger, very windy, irritable, feeding a lot. I think it's an age thing.
If I was you I'd offer the water before going down the laxative route. Water is natural, you can syringe it in if you don't want him to have a bottle.
Before you know it there will be poo everywhereThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
