They don't recommend cows milk until 12 months Katie but you can just switch straight over if you want to
we done half and half as we FF and he wouldn't take them it all on its own to start with, couldn't get used to the taste I don't think but he's fine now

Thanks gilly, I'm thinking if we can get to 11+ months then start the switch that would be ok - only really because my milk is definitely on the way and he goes mental at formula, don't really want to go through all the stress of getting him on to formula just for a month or so. Will speak to hv next week about it too.
He seems to have decided he doesn't need to nap anymoreslept for 15 minutes just now then went batty when I tried to resettle him. Did exactly the same yesterday and that was it for the whole day. Can't even take him out in the pram - it's that windy we'd get blown away!

I think as long as they have a varied diet it's fine. I think 12m is them being over cautious probablymaybe start offering it as a drink during the day to get him used to it?

Naps - we've got issues here too, she will fight sleep until she's so tired she just cries. Never used to be a problem. Yesterday she refused all morning, then at 2pm after some milk she eventually gave in and slept for 3 hours!
We've got mayhem at night too, she falls asleep no problem, but wakes up at some point between midnight and 2am and is awake for at least 2 hours. We're increasingly thinking she's hungry, she's got a 'hunger cry' and that's what we had last night. Only milk would settle her. Reluctant to reintroduce night feeds, but if she needs it she needs it?... Not giving any extra milk, just shifting it from 6am to 2am and then she has breakfast when she wakes up. What do others think - is this a really bad idea and will it encourage her to wake up rather than sleep? Can't take two hours of crying every night anymore...0 -
Is she around 9 months Nutella? They have a massive development leap around then and it can play havock with sleeping, naps and basically everything. I'd be inclined to try and squeeze more milk in during the day, or more food if it is hunger, and you can get it in during the day the wakings at night shouldn't be hunger. The frontier is never somewhere else. Nutella, could you give her more milk before going to sleep? Maybe that way she would sleep for longer? I have no idea, you are well ahead of me with regard to what they need, I wish I could help!
Oh, I forgot, fluff, yes, I do not want to try controlled crying. When I said "unless desperate", I meant "eventually and if", like I do not know, when she is almost a toddler and I definitely cannot carry her for that long! I just hate the idea of letting them cry!! I believe that they cry for a reason and it's their way of communicating until they learn how to speak.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

She's 10 months today and we've had issues with night sleep for just over a month (neatly coinciding with me going back to work...) so I think it's likely to be that, but I keep hoping it'll stop soon! Think I might try more milk at bedtime tonight and see how that goes - she already has 3 meals, a mid-morning snack and 3 bottles of milk a day....0
