Hello All
Big hugs Mrs h. Sorry to read your little man is on the severe side of the scale, but at least you have gone to the specialists and they are providing the equipment pretty quickly. Gutted thought at the cost of it  6 months will fly by too, I just think about the day I gave birth - it feels like 5 minutes ago!!
Hope everyone else is wellOff to bed x x x

big hugs mrs H. my LO has cephelheamatomas on either side of his head (bumps which are bruises) and worry that if they don't correct themselves then it could mean risky invasive surgery later. I've bought him a tummy time toy from mamas and papas -cheap on argos now- for Christmas. I use a nursing cushion for tummy time now. It is worrying x
big hugs Oscar, hope LO has the expressed milk and next weigh in goes well x0 -
Morning ladies. Well we managed a 6 hour stretch of sleep in the night! We've tried really hard to have a bedtime routine and it worked last night! I'm sure it's just a fluke but so pleased for now.
I had to go to the docs yesterday as I bled a lot overnight. It turns out one of my stitches has unravelled a little so am on antibiotic cream. I've got to go back tomorrow to be checked but things are feeling pretty uncomfortable ATM.
Hope everyone and their little ones are well. XxDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
morning
hope the bleeding gets better soon vic, sounds awful. hope LO gives you more good nights and time to recuperate.
I tried my tuppence & crumble star blanket yesterday but LO didn't seemed to like it but he was in a strange grumpy mood anyway. I think it's also because he couldn't get to his thumb to suck it too. He was almost back to his old supergrumpy windy self yesterdayI'm hoping his weigh in tomorrow goes well so he can sleep as much as he likes to get over his cold and I don't have to keep waking him up for feeds!
oh dear mothercare have halfprice on changing bags so I got a Matchel - I'm fed up of lugging a big rucksack around!0 -
Hi
Can anyone remember if when they had their 6 week check up it was done at the same time as the baby or if they were two separate appointments?
My GP told me I had to register Jack elsewhere because he lived in the wrong postcode (same address as me......) annoyingly so currently I'm going to have my 6 week appointment with the GP that I went through for all my MW care... but then another elsewhere for Jack.
I thought about me moving to the same as Jack but the surgery is an hour's walk away with no public transport, which doesn't fill me with joy if I was actually ill.
Trying to weigh up pros and cons but not sure what the 6week checks entail exactly. Can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks!0 -
Babamoose my 6 week check was a separate appointment, just checked my c section scar, asked about what contraception I wanted, had I stopped bleeding, did I have any worries. Pretty straightforward and quick really.0

Babamoose, I had to book a double appt - one for A and one for me for our 6 week checks. A's she was checked over - reflexes, heart/lungs, eyes, mouth/tongue. I had had to take her to baby clinic before her appt so we had an up to date (ish) weight. For me, he checked my wound (emcs), nipples (as I thought I had thrush and wanted treatment) and general health, any issues/concerns, how I felt I was coping etc.
That doesn't sound right at all regarding having to register Jack at a different surgery! I would chase that up firstly with the practice manager and if no joy, with the local health authority.
I loved your pictures too; so adorable!
vic Yay for the good stretch of sleep :j Sorry to hear that you are having some issues, but hope that it starts feeling better soon.
Beniceit's awful when they have a cold; we're just coming out the other side (I think!) of one again. Fingers crossed that your weigh in goes well. Also hope that the haematomas resolve spontaneously for your LO. They do cause us such worry don't they
MrsH I'm sorry that you're having a tough time with LO, but glad that you're getting some help. In my professional experience, learning disabilities are usually there at birth or may come about as a result of a disease eg measles/meningitis not caused or influenced by something that LO wears.
sunshine I quite agree - time is flying by! I'm just over halfway through my maternity leave already, and I can't tell you wear the time has gone!
Oscar has LO dropped percentiles suddenly or has it happened gradually? Sometimes babies can (without cause for concern) drop percentiles initially to reach their line ie. where they should be. If you had an IV during delivery this could also have artificially inflated LO's recorded birth weight. Hope that the GP helps to allay your concerns.
And for those special shopping links, or product recommendations, as much as we complain - we REALLY do LOVE them
lazywife I don't want A to be pulling up, or crawling - I was very happy with her just sittingGoing to have to rethink our Christmas tree on a table placement now as she can pull up and reach it
And I loved the pictures! Hehe T looks so grown up with some of the 'taches!
Hope that everyone else is well.
AFM, A has been awarded with her First Little Ducklings Award at swimming todayI had another meeting about my job situation, and "should" know in the next two weeks if they can accommodate my flexible working request in the new structure. I also won't have to attend an interview which is a bonus.
LO has been sleeping really badly lately; OH had a conversation about crying it out yesterday but I don't feel comfortable with doing that because a) we go on holiday in two weeks time and then again at the end of Jan, b) he doesn't get up anyway and c) how I can be sure she isn't hurting because of teeth moving about or too hot or too cold or hungry??0 -

congratulations A. I've just gotten a swimvest from amazon so I'm hoping to get the confidence to take LO when he's better.
crying it out sounds awful. I understand if it's a grumbly cry. A piercing heart-wrenching cry = no way! I've heard something about the wonder weeks theory - when they learn a new skill they become more unsettled.0 -
Our 6-week check was one (single) appointment.
Saf, my parents have been joking that it might be best to hang the xmas tree from the ceiling this year!0 -

Happened here - all she wanted to do was crawl and pull herself up all the time, including at 2am!0
