I've not read back properly yet, just wanted to share a proud mommy moment: on Saturday LO started forward crawling and today, after a few weeks of trying, she pulled into standing using the sofa. I missed her actually doing it, so put her down again and watched her repeat it so I know she genuinely can do it! :T I'm proud of LO, but also a bit
:T I do love a proud mummy moment!0 -
Thank you Claree, we noticed Los head when he was 3 months and hv told us twice it would get better, be hidden by hair etc but it hasn't and nearly 9 months on it's changing his face. We went to technology in motion yesterday and was gutted to be told his head in severe on the scale, he's being fitted with a helmet in a couple of weeks and will have to wear it for 6 months.
I can't honestly believe that the Nhs call it cosmetic but pay for girls to have boob jobsNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

Oh noThis is one issue on which I'd never again trust the NHS, and I'll say that again and again to anyone who'll listen
I too was really gutted when we were told LO needed a helmet, and very relieved when we eventually decided against it, but every now and then, more than a year on, OH will bring it up again and says he regrets not going ahead with the helmet, as although her head shape has improved massively, he thinks it still looks a bit flat at the back. It sounds like you've made the right decision for you and your little man though, and although 6 months might seem like a long time, it'll be worth it in the long run. At least he can never turn around and say 'you had the opportunity to do something about it and you didn't'. My OH still worries that our LO might one day do just that
Big hugs to you x

Aw gutted MrsH it's got to that stage. Glad Nutella can give you a little advice. Sounds like technology in motion know what they're talking about and can try to resolve it.

I've looked online and found so many good things written about the helmets, he's never going to have a "average" head shape now but it will correct his face which we are more concerned about but I found one website where someone had said that there were links to children having learning disabilities and that's scared me now!
Like you've said ill at least be able to say to my son we tried for you but I'd hate to think of any lasting damage because we were worried over his looks.
I do think the helmets look very cute thoughNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
There will always be scaremongering about anything and everything, but I honestly don't believe that stuff about learning disabilities - companies like Technology in Motion would have been sued many times over if that link had been proven! Focus on the positives - you're going ahead with this because your little man needs it. If the shape of his face is affected, then that's more than 'worrying over his looks' - people can be so cruel, and you're potentially protecting him from being bullied in the future and/or having his confidence affected.0

I know, it's always the case, you read 100 good things but it's the 1 bad that you take notice of. It's the only part I'm bothered about, I'm not concerned with comments from people, 6 months of wearing it or anything else, it was just the learning disability bit!
Anyway, cute pics being put on hereNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
I don't blame you - as you say, it's hard to ignore the one bad thing.
Cute pics indeedIt's hard to believe that once upon a time my LO was that small!

We have had a worrying old day here
LO had her 3rd jabs and weigh in and she has dropped from 25th to 2nd centile. I have to take her back next week but have actually decided to see the GP asap anyway. I thought things were improving after the tongue tie division because the duration of her feeds dropped to about 20 - 30 minutes every hour and a half to 2 hours.
Obviously we can look to top her up with formula but she was sick the last few times she had any so I am feeling nervous about giving her some. I am worried to death about her and not at all confident about her feeding. To make matters worse I have to be away from her on Thursday and although I have expressed off several 6oz feeds I am terrified that it won't be enough and what will happen if she is sick if she needs formula before I am back.0
