I'm so tempted by the perfect prep machine. 3 months ago I'd have snapped it up but I feel like we're past the stage of needing bottles in the middle of the night/immediately so I should just suck it up and use the kettle?

Id say its entirely up to you, I suppose value for money wise it would have been more from day1? I think Id def get one for no2, as I reckon I would have even less time to do bottles then!

Morning ladies, LO has an awful blocked nose and chesty cough :( he was coughing in his sleel half the night. Fine in himself but I am chasing him round wiping his nose every 2mins!

Have good Sundays guys :) we are off to Next, MILS, my dads, then home then my mums for tea!

Think I'll get one. My mum gave us money for her christening to get something she needs. Plus it's a decent price with the toys r us sale and I can always stick it on eBay. Am I convincing anyone?

Christening today and mass falls around the same time she's due a bottle, which isn't ideal!

I'm convinced! There's plenty of things we won't get 'value' from, but I suppose it's just because it's a fair amount to spend on one thing. Justify it being a bargain compared to rrp.
  • Hello,

Bit of a question here for BF mums... I'm a week in and.......... ow.

I went to a Bosom Buddies workshop which was fantastic and have got the latch sorted now, but the trouble I'm having is with the (not so) old pair when I'm just generally walking around and out and about.

Does anyone have any tips?! (no pun intended).

I was having another problem with sticking to breast pads, but mainly due to not drying off before going back to sleep in the middle of the night etc. so that hasn't been helping things along... but just wondered if there were any other sufferers?

Babamoose I recommend Lansinoh lanolin for sore nips, apply a little after every feed and if your nips are cracked, you can also rub breast milk in. Whilst at home leaving them to air dry where possible will also help. The first two weeks are the hardest by far, but after 6 weeks its easier, 10 weeks easier still. We've recently done 6 months and I'm so so glad I stuck with it through those difficult first weeks.

    Evening all :)

Hope everyone's had a good day.

    Claree, hope christening went well?

Sunshine, how is Aiden doing? We have a snotty little person here too :o

Good day here, although not much to report - had a nap (always a weekend highlight!), went to Sainsbury's and spent the afternoon listening to (or in LO's case, dancing to) 'It is wut it is' by Irie Love approximately 1000 times :rotfl: LO loves it (although thankfully I do too) - every time it finished she pointed at the speakers and said 'mah!' (more). Good thing Spotify Premium allows unlimited and offline use or it would have been a very expensive day!

Off to bed in a minute - hoping to get rid of a headache that seems to be getting worse :(

    !

You won't regret it! You can use it for as long as you are making bottles up and flog it on Ebay for the same price afterwards! (or save it for the next....??!!;))

Nutella - I have had a 2 day headache although mine is caused by half a bottle of rose wine consumed on Friday....I cannot drink without dire consequences! :(

Anyone else have hair moulting issues? I used to have really thick hair but about 2 months after having LO, its been coming out in handfuls - I am a little worried and have put off going to hairdressers as I don't want her to pull even more out! How long will this last and will I ever have thick hair again (or will I have to start buying thickening shampoo???)

My hair was behaving in a similar fashion after having LO, but it's completely back to normal now, no thickening shampoo involved! I've heard it's fairly common. I can't remember exactly when it stopped falling out (my memory of those early days are a bit hazy), but stop it did. Hope your headache goes away soon - I can't handle more than one glass of wine these days! :o
  • Dida, yes!!! My hair is coming out by the bucket load, I thought it was to do with the pill that my doc put me on post birth but dr google says its normal after birth biotin is supposed to be good for hair growth. I showed hubby the handful that came out in the shower, he couldn't believe it. Claree hope christening went well. Ididnt even know the pp existed or I would definitely have gotten one in the early days but we are past the stage of bottles in the night, for now!
    Mum of 2 :j
  • Hi! Hope the Christening went well Claree, T's is in 4 weeks time (he'll be 7 months, so a bit older than your LO).
Babamoose, definately Lansinoh. After every feed rub it on and it does get easier.... promise.
IHateDida - yup. I moulted from about 2 months to probably 4-5 months. It's better now, but my previously thick hair is more normal now. Whether it will thicken up again I don't know, not too fussed if it doesn't as it was a bit of a lion's mane to tame.
    Off to bed, night all.x
