 hello! I'm hoping to join you soon - I'm due tomorrow!

It would be lovely if baby joined us this weekend so DH doesn't have to go back to work on Monday, but no signs yet.

Good luck for this weekend. I was 12 days late

I know you don't NEED another list, but I'd felt a little left out, lol!

    Hiya everyone......

Jwil, Tazzyb- I was 12 days late. At one point, with three sweeps under my belt, I think we were reasonably convinced baby would never arrive! In her defense, it was extremely nasty and cold outside. Enjoy these last few days, baby will be here soon. :)

Mine is now at the age where every day is a kamikaze death act, and phrases have been uttered I never thought possible- 'Baby, get down from the top of the sofa, release the cat, and stop throwing spoons at the dogs....'

That daily mail article is mad -" Parents spend an average of £1,500 on their child before it is even born." Did any of you ladies spend that much before bubs was born? I know we're cheapskates but we haven't spent that much on him even now and he's going on 10 months!

He's been an absolute star today, took him to see my gran in her care home (she has Alzheimer's) and he made her day, crawling round and gurgling at her :). She was the envy of the whole home - all the oldies wanted a cuddle or a wave from him.

I guess £1500 maybe isn't that far fetched when you consider cots, car seats etc if you get it all new. We were just very lucky to be given so much stuff 2nd hand that I can't imagine where £1500 would have gone!

I didn't spend as much as £1500 and I bought a really expensive pram. Flash pram and nothing to wear - that's Freddie.

Morocha, I bought it at mothercare on offer at £3.5, but it was £5.90. I buy most of my baby stuff at amazon, I signed up for the 3 months free trial of the Prime service, which gives you next day delivery, and I'm using it every week almost, for nappies, wipes, bottles, CDs, books, etc.

Katiechoc, we didn't spend a fraction of that. We bought the travel.system on ex-display offer at boots for £60, bath and towels for £20, moses was a present from MIL with some bedding, big carrie, bouncer and clothes a present from my parents, we have been given money for a cot from FIL, clothes were gifts or second hand, I only bought 2 snow suits for £25 both and 5 sleeping bags for £55 total. DH bought some sleepsuits at Tesco for £7. Bottles and teats were about £70 because we bought first Avent and then switched to Dr browns. Sterilizer was also given second hand. We don't have anything else that I can think off. Changing table also second hand given, and amazing fluff sent us the gym mat. Total spent below £250. Formula is £10 a week, plus nappies about the same, but that's covered with the child benefit, so not so bad!!

I've bought Mam dummies from Boots, Tesco, Asda and Mothercare xx

Edit: Think they're around £5.50 for 2 but Asda sometimes do 2x2 packs for £6

We spent more than £1500 before she was born and much more since, that includes moses basket, car seat, buggy, clothes and everything else. But then we did convert the bathroom from having just a shower to having a bath, and once she was here we converted the study to her bedroom, so then there was furniture to be bought... But we've bought everything new, jumperoo included :)
