thanks for the giggle!!
Hi Rups so glad you are doing well, hope the birth went OK for you in the end, I kind of missed any of your post as I was in "new baby arriving at christmas shell shock mode!"
Mrsashworth - I started weaning my little one at 4 months, she loves her food but because I weaned early I found it hard because no health visitor would help me with what I could/couldn't give her or portion size etc. even now at 6 months their advice is "well she'll be sick if you give her too much" - ok well that's helpful! I think I've found it one of the harder things to do because I didn't really have any advice so I've made it up as I go along. I've tried her on baby led weaning type stuff and she just nearly chokes herself every time so still on purees but roughly mashed stuff. Excitement at 6 months is dairy and meat which is what we are up to at the moment. Because I have a number of food allergies I've introduced one food at a time which has been helpful for me but it isn't particularly recommended to do it that way, I just wanted to based on my experiences with food.0 -
Just popping in to say I'm off on my jollys tomorrow so I'll be gone for a week
'See' you all when I'm back xx

Enjoy Gilly!
Woop Rups. Glad you finally made it over
Mrsh2b, I've done BLW and was a bit skeptical of it. I started just before he was six months as I noticed a change in the way he was reacting to me eating and figured a few days off 6 months wouldn't harm as with BLW they say food is more for fun and you're lucky if any makes it in the hole. Three weeks on and last night he fed himself half a Philadelphia sandwich and half a banana! It's brilliant what these little things can do0 -

Enjoy your hols Gilly.
MrsH, a stone lighter than every with a 4month old... jealous! I'm still a stone heavier than ever and T's 2 months. Maybe the cheeky ice cream in the sunshine isn't helping.
How's everyone's LO coping with the heat. T's not too bad, I've kept him indoors mostly where it's cool, and there is a bit of a breeze, so I've tended to just throw a thin muslin over him when he's out and about, he's good at wearing his sunnies too, so he's not screwing his eyes up too much in the brightness. (I think only keeps them on as he's not coordinated enough to knock them off!).
Also he's teething, was unsure to start with as he was born with little nubs, but the bottom left tooth is whiter now, and feels different when I put my finger in. Plus he chews everything and dribbles alot now. At 2 months, I think we just go with it. He's not coordinated enough for a teething ring to hold himself, put I'll hold one in there if he's agitated and he'll chew away.
Enjoying the tennis everyone?
How do attach pic, was going to show you all T in the summer sunshine?0 -
So hot today... I just want nothing more then to take an ice cold shower but LO has been ill and wanting constant attention and wont sleep ... OH has gone to his mates after being at work all week and I feel totally drained not had any time to myself at all. Every car door outside Im hoping its him coming home as I have no idea when hes coming back and his phone has died...bloody typical.
*sighs*People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Why are men folk so rubbish? Hope he comes home soon *hugs*0

Too frickin hot. Have kept a poorly baby in all day, with half hour outside after 6pm. Have had a few drinks today wahey, but means the boy will have to go without booby at bed, he has before but it was always his choice not mine so fingers crossed he doesn't create!!
Hope everyone else has managed not to melt!!0 -
My lo has a heat rash all up his back
had him just in his nappy earlier on but we went to oh parents for tea and the walk down in the car seat in the pram has made it worse. That's me stopping in all week now!

I am so sunburnt! Was on the coast where there was a breeze and apparently didn't notice how hot it was!
Bamama - Does Dewi not choke when you give him finger food? I tried banana, the whole thing went in as far as possible then she gagged. I tried a stick of banana she broke it into little pieces (still 1-2cm in size) and swallowed them whole. She has had a piece of toast but sucks it until its soggy then I have to rescue it off the roof of her mouth!!
Get well soon all sicky babes and hot hot mamas!0
