Although I've noticed size 3 upwards are nearly double the price!! Please tell me they use less nappies the older they get, lol

Yeah we always changed at every feed, so 8-10 nappies a day and then as his feeds went down so did nappies.

Realistically you could get away with 3-4 nappies a day but would you really want to do that. I wouldn't fancy sitting around in wet pants for hours on end.

We use reusables now and probably use 4/5 a day, I change every 3 hours, and when there is a dirty nappy and then a fresh nappy for bed.

Happy 6 months to your little man elelyn!

I've just, for the first time ever, got George back off to sleep when he woke up after only 20 minutes of a nap. Normally once he's awake that's it during the day so this is a big deal! Should probably get my !!!! in gear and do something useful with the peace and quiet...

Well I have been chav mummy today :o

DD1 caused us to miss the bus this morning... I may have lost my temper slightly and shouted a tiny bit :o

Then I made them all march to school.

Then gave my little 2 some wotsits. So they were bright orange  I never want another day like today, ever.

I've had a really positive visit from breastfeeding support this morning. We were told in hospital that George has a very loose tongue tie but because he was feeding ok (although noone had checked or watched) they weren't going to do anything & it shouldn't cause any problems.

Well, having spoken to the worker this morning & she'd not even been made aware of it but apparently that's been happening a lot recently with local mums :( She thinks it potentially is causing some issues with George's feeding as he doesn't open his mouth as wide when he's latching on & he also uses his bottom jaw/lip to massage the nipple with so I've been ending up with misshapen nipples after he's fed. He also feeds every 1.5-2hrs which although not an issue now (he's only 3wks old today) but if it was to continue past 6wks being a regular pattern then it could indicate he's not feeding as efficiently as he could.

It also turns out that its a much smaller thing to deal with now as its just nipped & in some areas they have nurses trained to do it whereas if we were to wait until George is older then it would need to be done under a GA. Apparently it heals better done earlier too as the breast milk helps it to heal & he's less likely to have complications such as ulcers afterwards. So I think we're going to have it nipped now as opposed to waiting to see if it causes problems.

We made a few adjustments to George's feeding position too which are mainly things I did know but I'd got lazy with, things like nose level with nipple, keeping him horizontal & keeping him close to me as opposed to letting him roll away from me.

I hope everyone is well. No real plans for today, thinking about going to well baby clinic later to have George weighed but we'll see what he has planned for us! We have the HV coming on Friday & he was weighed last Monday so I'm not worried if we don't get there today. Tbh, the well baby clinic HVs are pretty unfriendly & don't exactly make me want to go. I'm tempted to travel 15mins to a different children's centre that I used to work with to go to the clinic there on Thursday!

Mrsb glad you got some good support! My boy had his tie snipped, he didn't even cry at it. He cried at being swaddled though LOL!! There were precisely 2 drops of blood on the gauze, and he fed immediately and I didn't notice an improvement that feed, but by the next day I could definitely tell the difference, my nipples were much less battered, I didn't get soaked from a dribble of milk out the side of his mouth while feeding, and he was significantly less windy.
