So ladies, when do you look to swap nappy sizes? LO is 10lb 2oz and his size 1 nappies say up to 11 lb, but size 2 say 8lb upwards.
So can we swap him now? His size 1 still fit fine BUT we've noticed they are starting to rub his inner leg on the cuff. Is this related?0 -
The weight ranges overlap so much. We've always moved up way before he was at the end weight range, more for absorbency than anything else, as the bigger the nappy the more liquid it'l takeThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

This is a very good question & something I have been wondering myself!0 -
Peanut, we've swapped to the next size up as soon as she's within the next range - we've found that once you're approaching the top end they start to get too tight and/or leak more frequently. I'd go up to the next size now if I were you - what you're describing is most likely a sign that they're now too small.0

So we made mini cheesecakes today, I decided to give A one for his pudding today. at the mess. This is the aftermath...The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

It's very strange as around the waist the tabs still overlap but they are rubbing around the leg.
Well we have about half a pack left so we'll use this and then move onto the pack of size 2 we have(which are much cheaper than size 1!)

I'd change more often and see how it goes, some babies are really sensitive and if the nappy is in the least bit damp they can tend to rub. I think until he was around 12 weeks old I changed at every feedThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Gilly, looks like he enjoyed his cake!
Peanut, you might also find that the brand of nappy that you use doesn't suit his bodyshape - my LO has chunky thighs, and the only brand we've tried that doesn't rub is Pampers. Obviously try the next size up, but if it still happens, try a different brand and it might make all the difference.
Hope everyone is well x0 -

Whereas my experience is the opposite.. when I've moved Freddie up that's when the nappies have leaked so I've tended to leave him in the smaller size as long as possible. Plus you get more in the bag for the same price
It just depends. It depends on the nappy, the shape of your bubs, and whether a boy or girl too I reckon. Trial and error..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
With my little chunky legged boy, we have to change really early to get decent closure round the legs. He's been in size 5 for months and he's only 21 or 22 pounds!0
