  • Can we join the rubbish sleep gang? :( she went down at 8 as usual but then woke up at 10 and screamed until 4 when she finally fell asleep exhausted, the only restbite we got was when i had my boob out! Up for the day at 8 and she's full of smiles but my eyes are killing me and my poor oh started work at 6am! I'm really really hoping it's teething and will be over soon as althougg last night was the worst we've had the last few weeks have been pretty poor on a whole with the last few niggts getting progressively worse. We at least have bumps on her gums now so fingers firmly crossed!

I tried to teach mine to do kisses, but all she has managed is to open her mouth and leave it like that on my cheek whilst doing some "gummm" sound lol. I end up covered in dribble and she stays there with the mouth open all chuffed lol

The service yesterday was lovely. We sang "He's got the whole world in his hands" and vicar said that anyone that wasn't singing would be getting wet too! Dewi didn't cry and vicar commented that he actually seemed to enjoy the water. The after party started off well. I really enjoyed to food. OH complained that there was too much vegetarian food... Strange for a vegetarian. Then that it wasn't private enough. We'd been given the bar area in a restaurant. It was separated from the dining but they couldn't shut it off completely. There were only a handful of people that weren't guests though. But all seemed to be going ok. I heard a few people mentioning that they'd be moving off. Then an argument broke out between my mother and MIL. They've met three times. And there has been tension every time. My birthday, my labour and now the christening. My mother annoyed me by running to me to tell me all about it. She was the one that had said something and upset MIL. Though I don't think she intended what she said to come across as it did. She's not the most tactful of people, my mother. She needs to think more before she speaks. Then again I don't think OH's family needed to react as they did.

That said, I knew it was never going to go smoothly as both our parents are divorced so there are effectively 4 families. So I'm classing it as a successful day :). Might have to have words with my mother though ><

Mrsb - how was the photoshoot?

    Xxxx

It went pretty well. It wasn't with my favourite photographer but I'll be going to see them soon :) I'm really excited to see the pictures once they've been edited though & I'm sure there'll be one or two that are forum friendly!

Mrs_B Not for my experience but I have heard the best thing to do is A - get a teat for a bottle that is most like a nipple, MAM are good for this as they have a flat teat sort of how your nipple will be in your LO's mouth, B - Get Dad to do the feeding so LO can't see you and/or smell your milk and C - Don't hold baby while feeding, put them into a bouncer or a seat of some sort.

Like Morocha said, some babies just don't take to a bottle if they're used to the breast. How soon would you be going for a KIT day? Will he be of weaning age? If so I'd be inclined to leave a cup (a doidy or similar) and try him with that and leave plenty of grub for him, one day won't upset your supply. xx

I might have to have a go with a different type of bottle. He seemed to like the tommee tippee as it was like nuzzling a boob with how big the teat is :)

I'm sure he'll be fine when I'm on a kit day as its not for a couple of months yet, just me being a worried mummy :)

I think I've replied to all the replies to my bottle question but if I kissed anyone I'm sorry :) All the replies are much appreciated, I'm going to see if anyone we know has any different bottles we can try. I'm sure he'll be fine as I'm not doing a kit day for a while yet but it's just be being a worrier :)

    Hi all

My LO has been rubbish at sleeping recently too and I think it's been the heat at night. I love the heat but I'm glad it's cooler at night atm. He also has really bad excema where I have to apply a lot of cream and it's horrible when he's been sweating. Thankfully after a few days of cream applying it seems to be looking better already :) Not that it seems to bother LO though.

OH and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at the weekend :j We went away for the night and it was great to do nothing :) Yes we missed LO but he was great with my mum and behaved much better for her than with us...typical! I phoned a few times to see how things were doing and my mum basically told us to go away and enjoy ourselves (not that she used those words lol)

mrs_B - I've been using the tommee tippee bottles from when I was combination feeding and can recommend them. I hope you find what works for you and your LO.

Hope everyone is doing well today. I shall try and post more often depending on LO's naps. I do lurk sometimes though :)

Dewi is napping! I'm gonna enjoy a warm cuppa. Sorry of everyone thinks I'm being rude with not responding to other posts. I've realised I've been so self involved lately. I'm gonna try and kick my brain back into gear!!!

Mrs_b, if LO will be big enough for a beaker on your KIT day then I wouldn't worry too much if you can't get the "right" bottle. But if you're going for a bottle and find one then try to keep offering it regularly. Even if it's just an ounce or two as they're little bu99ers and like to go off them.

Turtle... How's life treating you? Bet it sucks to be back at work :(

Glad to hear you had a good time anibell. We've yet to have a night out but I'm in no rush. We seem to have nothing to talk about ATM so we're enjoying the comfortable silence at home :)

Fluff... We've been a little deprived of Freddie photos lately!

Morocha, how's everything at home these days?

DDB, sorry to hear you've had a rubbish sleep. Hope it rectifies itself soon.

Katie, enjoy that sit down!!! NEVER feel guilty.

Hmm... There's more in my noggin but I'm gonna enjoy the tea now :)
