I'm contemplating buying a backpack-type carrier so I can carry LO on my back... Any recommendations? She's a big girl and weighs 11.5-ish kg.

Saf, congratulations and welcome to the thread! :)
  • We've had somewhat of an eating breakthrough today, I'm so excited and my oh just isn't getting it so have come on to share with you lovely ladies lol.

For breakfast she had porridge and half a banana, lunch was an entire nectarines, half a bag of the organix tomato things and half a plum and for dinner she's eaten spaghetti with sauce and a meatball followed by 3 mango fingers! AND she is drinking water happily from her sippy cup - I'm so pleased I could do a little jig lol. Vegetables we shall work on!

I've had one of those days where I just want to cry and run away :(
Of course I won't but still.....

All he's done is scream at me all day despite being fed, winded, cuddled, rocked, making sure he's not too warm or cold, you name it I've done it.

He slept for half an hour while we went out for a couple of hours, he was fed, winded and quite happy but the screaming started! Came home where he had smiles for my oldest son but none for me. He is sooooo tired but fighting it all the way. Can't wait for hubby to get home!

EDIT: He's just fell asleep in my arms....I don't want to move! :(

    Welcome and congrats saffagirl! x

Nutella - we've had food stand offs for weeks it seems but of course on the first day we're with daddy for all meals she's incredibly obliging, let's hope it continues I've printed off loads of recipes and am ready to experiment lol. She's sitting eating a biscotti with my oh now after getting very cross he wouldn't share his hob nobs - if she develops the same ever empty stomach her dad has (without ever putting weight on in his case, grrr!) Then my food bill is going to suffer!

Sorry you've had a bad day anibell - hope he settles down for you and sleeps well tonight x

I am really considering it too. I think we're going to go for a Rose and Rebellion Pre-School Carrier, should be big enough for your LO too. I have tried an Ergo and really liked it and it was easy enough to get him on but I felt it was on the small side.

My LO has decided the pram is for wimps and wants to walk everywhere but then he obviously runs out of steam so it'd be handy to have with me :o

I will however, be very glad when I can get behind the wheel of my car again as I have been limited to walking into the village when its not raining since DH went back to work, and I am going slightly potty being practically housebound and dependent on others. My GP is a little old school and won't sign me off till 6 weeks. Saying that, I am a little anxious about our first outing in the car as she has to go in the back as I can't turn my passenger airbag off in my car.

Has your insurance company actually said they need your doctor to do this?

There are a lot of myths around c-sections and driving. I was back behind the wheel within a week. In fact, I'd have been driving sooner but my OH was on leave so I didn't need to. Driving was far less painful than walking :D

Marta I'm with you, for the last 3 days I've put him back in his basket in the bedroom to nap and each time he's slept for 2hrs, and this is the boy that cried and cried and only slept in my arms from birth! Loving it, I also had a nap today, this weather must be making us mummy's tired!

Regarding wee at changes, I tried the old nappy underneath, however with him having a "thing" it snakes wee all over my hands and jeans lol! Give me a girls privates anyday! Less unpredictable hehe :)

Freddie's weed in the OH's eye before. And pooed up the wall. Today he smeared crap all over his socks. Disgusting little buggers really, aren't they.

Days like this are exhausting aren't they? Tomorrow will be better, my love.
