We used a milk thickener for our milk, but it was prescribed by a GP and only made it slightly thicker as the milk we used was very thin x

Yes sorry I didn't mean things like that, as under your doctors instruction - I meant like my MIL wanting to add baby rice to a bottle (didn't happen!)

Hi ladies. Mind if I dive in for some advice? I'm looking to top up my freezer stash, the stuff I pumped in hospital has a month left but I'll have to start adding to it so we have the option of a bottle in the next 3 months.

He's feeding for half hour in every 2 hours during the day really. Closer together in the evenings and then sleeping 7-9 hours at night. If he's been asleep half hour when he goes down at night it's a near certainty that won't wake until morning.

When is the best time to express? How often a day? Should I be aiming for X amount?

I express 1st thing on the morning from one boob. Then just before bed from both. My freezer bags are marked up to 5oz so I aim for 5-6oz a day. Usually get 3-4oz in the morning

Turtle, hope you're ok, was thinking of you yesterday.

Our household currently consists of one miserable little girl and two very tired parents :( We have teething, nappy rash and coughing. I slept from 1am until 4.30 and then from 5 until 5.45, when typically she was fast asleep but I had to get up for work. Yesterday, my day 'off', was exhausting - she just wouldn't nap despite crying from tiredness. Ended up taking her for a long walk in the buggy which did the trick but took a fair amount of effort - to top it all off she has also passed on her cold to me :( Boo! Hope everyone is well and had a better night than us.

PS: And it's frizzy hair weather... Boo again!

Thanks for that Tazzy. Seems easy to fit it in like that :)

Well Nutella, don't hate me but my little man slept from 8pm-7am! I even managed a glass of wine :) unfortunately I have a cold so I didn't actually sleep that well and OH woke me coming in from work around 4 ><

Nutella might not hate you because she's nice. But I do :D

Freddie did his usual - waking every 90 minutes or so starting at 8.30pm through until 6am. Little bugger!

I can confirm that the world is indeed against me this morning :o Tube got suspended whilst I was on the platform so had to take a d-tour to get to work. Arrived at the other end desperate for a caffeine fix - only to find that my favourite cafe has closed down! It was there on Wednesday - today it's gone!

Bamama, yay for sleep! I don't hate you but I'm rather jealous!

i always express in the mornings, normally while feeding Maisie from the other boob, takes a bit juggling baby and pump but it works so much better that way and alot quicker too :)

its my DH birthday sunday i was going to get some of those paint pads out of the early learning center and do something with her hand prints and foot prints but on the container it says from 2 years, am i best not to use it do you think?

Toni, amazon has some printing kits that are inkless and suitable from newborn. maybe there's one with Amazon prime delivery and you can get it by tomorrow?
