Another book eater
My Dad bought us a lovely Peter Rabbit Book for Easter last year and he's chewed the full spine off
it's upsetting as it was such a lovely book...

Just bought a peekaboo book for LO thinking the flaps that you open were made from paper thick enough not to be eaten. I was wrong. One of them is all scrunched up and there's a corner missing that I couldn't find, so I can only assume that she's swallowed it0

well im getting brave with Maisie, i took her into town by myself for the first time, met my sister for few hours then met DH on his break from work for lunch and i fed Maisie for the first time in public! she was a little star until a man set beside us while i was feeding her and she kept coming off to look at him! but he was none the wiser and sat there eating his sandwich
hope everyone has a brill weekend! x0 -
Just a quickie as he is currently rampaging up and down while Oh is trying to sleep.
We've used the paint pads at baby group and they're really good - make sure you have a pack of baby wipes on hand to get the worst off straight afterwards and you'll be ok, any leftover bits will come off with a couple of minutes sat in the bath, no long term staining. I don't recommend trying hand prints though, trying to get a baby to uncurl his fingers while not lick the paint off them is not fun, never mind trying to get them printed on paper as well! feet are much easier to deal with.Newborn thread member

Good advice, I forgot it might be hard work getting them to uncurl their fingers.
We are decorating our hallway soon and I wanted to get 3 square canvasses so I could put the boys hand prints on each of them. May have to get a few incase Noah doesn't cooperate!:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012

you all been busy.
I have decided to switch to formula, Jade is 5 weeks old, how much do your babies drink ? what formula do you use and how do u get organized for the feeding at night ?
I gave J a bottle last night cos i tried not to bf, thenn in the middle of the nights my boobs were so full they were killing me, she empty both and cried and cried cos she wanted more, oh made her a bottle and she was really happy, played a bit and now is sleeping.
I do not think i can carry on bf, my body is giving up and j is so hungry, can not be sitting in my coach feeding every hour any longer, being a mum is hard enough yet still feel guilt over not bf....:(Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Morning all
Hope everyone had a good night. Ours was better than the previous few - was up from 11 until 1 and then again from 3 to 3.30, but she stayed in her cot all night and woke up for the day at 6.30. We're getting strict with not picking up now (OH finally agrees that she should be sleeping in her own bed), so am hoping that it won't take her that long to settle back to sleep once she understands that she's not going to get picked up.
She's a happier girl too - nappy rash is gone, the excessive pooing has stopped and she's coughing less. She's currently having a nap - only took her about 10 minutes to fall asleep, which is miles better than the hour I spent trying and failing on ThursdaySo fingers crossed we're having a break from teething misery and coughing for a bit. She's fascinated by her new tooth though - she keeps licking it and looking baffled!
Btw, just bought some slippper socks called Mocc Ons (from the people who make Sock Ons) - would definitely recommend for others with babies that are pulling themselves up to standing and cruising the furniture (especially if, like us, you have laminate flooring) - it stops her from slipping and most incredibly, they stay on her feet all daySizes are a bit small though - she's almost 10 months, and 12-18 months fits really well with a bit of room to grow.
Have a good day all x0
