Thanks for the reply Kaylana
I have upped feedings to three per day and shall see how we go on with that. I've also taken on board what you said about the milk feeds which is something I didn't know so thank you. Wish the HV were actually helpful, I have read so many conflicting things and just want answers but being referred to the "don't wean until 6 months" leaflet is not helpful
anyway.... I've switched to giving milk first and then solids and she eats/drinks just as much either way but stays down better in that order (no more orange sick I hope! darned carrots!). Hope things are better with your little one too
Bamama - Great news for being off the medication!
zebusi - My C-Section bleeding went lighter after about 4 weeks then came back a bit. If you are unsure of anything please see the Dr or Midwife, they won't mind one bit and it will put your mind at ease. Agree with Nutella though, the more active I was the more it bled
Fluff - Five teeth! That's fab. This little one got her first tooth on her 5 month birthday, I only noticed when it grazed my boob when she was feeding! :rotfl:
Maxi Cosi Pearl car seat is £123 on Amazon at the moment and £125 on Boots (plus £21.50 of points this bank holiday weekend only (usually £12.50)) in case anyone was after one. Best price I've seen around and I've been stalking/tracking them for ages.0 -
Thanks for the answers all. I spoke to midwife who said the same really, bleeding will stop and start depending on activity but if still heavy then call 111 over weekend but has tailed off today.....I just need to remember that although I feel well I'm still recovering and the housework can wait!
LO took a good feed about an hour ago and now she's flat out beside me in moses basket and hubby snoring on other side....I'm hoping she'll last til half 1 for next feed but I can't complain as she's pretty much in a four hourly pattern and likes her kip...I will no doubt regret saying that soon.
Last few days then hubby back to work...a 2yr old and baby....no idea how that will work with just me.....when do you ladies shower??? We're like a tag team at minute, I have a feeling DD will live upstairs a lot out of the way of DS aka the tiny tyrant! :rotfl:0 -
When my lo was newborn, I only managed to shower when DH looked after her, I was napping or eating when she was napping. Since week 11 or 12 I put her in the tippitoes bath, which has an integrated seat, and I put her bath inside the normal bath, I use the shower on my side and let her play with the water on her side. The tippitoes bath is small, though, she cannot slip in or anything, she pretty much stays seated, as if she were in a bouncer.obviously I don't turn around and I look at her at all times whilst being at her level, but seconds here and there allow me to put shower gel and scrub the arms, play with her, scrub the legs, play with her, etc . If I want to be quick, I put her in the bouncer facing the shower and I put music and dance / sing for her whilst I shower. It seems to amuse her long enough for me to finish the shower. I also tried showering with her in my arms and me seated, but I needed DH around to put her in and take her out as I was scared of slipping, so it wasn't convenient for me because my DH arrives in the evening.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Hi ladies
Yay for teeth Fluff! And double yay for not having noticed! Hope the rest come through as easily.
Have a lovely time with your mum Nutella.
Hope you're doing ok with weaning Moneypenny. How old is your LO? We started weaning at just over 5 months and our Hv was actually pretty good - just said that she couldn't advise on starting early as they have to follow the nhs guidelines, but with a clear implication that it was up to me.
Yay for no more meds Bamama!
We're back off hols now, got the washer on and a ton more to get through. Love holidays but coming home to a mountain of washing is a bummer. G managed to face plant on to a gravel track while we were away so he's looking a bit battered and bruised after splitting his lip and grazing his nose and forehead.
Hope everyone enjoys their bank holidays!Newborn thread member

Is it really sad that I'm excited about a night without oh tonight? He's going out for his friends birthday, so originally planned to have a friend over for wine but she may not be able to come and I'm actually excited to put lo to bed and be by myself!
I've bought a mag, crisps, a cake and some chocci biscuits and I'm going to take lo to bed at 8 feed and bed and then I'll lie in bed scoffing my face! Lol. So sad aren't I?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
I don't blame you! I guess I'm kind of used to it cause my OH works till 10pm 2-3 times a week...I always say he needs to find a 8-5 job but I think I would miss it if he did espically when I go back to work as I'd never have any time by myself. :-)
I've only just managed to get my DS into a routine though for bedtime but hopefully he will be down for about 8 and I can actally have a few hours to myself before OH comes home...I'll probally just be doing my course but I barely get chance to with DS crawling in circles lol

I'm taking full advantage of my lo going sleep for half 9 until 7 for last 3days
I know it might not last so I'm loving all the sleep I'm getting!! Most I've had in 10 weeks!
