I know that feeling! I bought three pairs of shoes from Blowfish this afternoon :) My wardrobe needs a serious overhaul, and I figured what better place to start than shoes? :D

Oh gilly I'm gutted I missed out on that carrier :(

I'm going to be nosy here & ask what carrier? I only ask because I've started using a wrap now...but this is turning into a sale so I'll stop & drop you a PM. Also there's the newborn for sale/swap thread on Facebook for those of you on there. Definitely worth a nosey as there's always some bargains to be had! I think it's a closed group so you need to be added or send a request I think but it was pretty quick when I joined :)

I hope everyone is well. We had a couple of hours out for a meal with friends without George last night. That was weird but my mum & her husband came to look after him which was lovely of them as they live a couple of hours away! I also went to the hairdressers yesterday for a couple of hours whilst George had some boys time with Daddy & that was weird too, I felt like I was missing out on family time :o

I'm not sure how I'd feel about going on holiday with family/friends with a really young baby. I quite enjoyed time just as our little family unit, as opposed to the extended family, when George was first born but I don't know if him being our first plays a part in that. That said, I was out & about very early in & was actually at Center Parcs when he was 4 days old visiting DHs work mates as he works at the one in Sherwood & it was quite nice just to get some fresh air in the forest :) I think only you have any idea if you'll be up to it but the fact you're having doubts seems to me that you don't feel like you'll be ready, I second maybe going in the spring or something :)

I've been feeling a bit down recently, not depressed or struggling with being a mum particularly but feeling like I can't get everything done at home & like I've given up being a good wife to be a good mum if that makes sense. I feel almost like because I'm at home all day now (obviously I do go out with George but you get what I mean!), I should be able to keep on top if washing & housework & have tea ready when DH gets home but I struggle, mainly because I want to give George my all & sometimes he just wants to snuggle! And sometimes it's just quite draining being a constant milk machine :rotfl:

Nothing planned today, just a day at home, possibly trying to get some bits done around the house (George permitting!) & then some family time when DH gets home from work at about 6pm. George is having some photos done tomorrow too so need to think about what sort of things we'd like to take with us for that!

I so get what you say about moving from being a good wife to being a good mum! I specially hate the fact that I'm never nicely dressed, I'm on my "comfy clothes" all day, it's an occasion if I manage to put some eyeliner and my hair lives mostly on a ponytail right now. Plus cuddly time has gone down the drain, I really have to "plan" it and make time for it. I was struggling with housework and meals as well, DH does the laundry and I tidy up when I can if I can. I've started to organize on a Sunday the meals for the whole week, it helps a lot. I know what we are having and I can prepare it throughout the day, buy only the stuff I need and defrost stuff the previous night. I make one meal in the slow cooker during the week, so I know I have it ready and I can use the rest of the time to do other stuff. I have fish another day, and because it cooks so quickly on the grill, I wait for DH to arrive and hold lo whilst I make it. Pasta sauce can be made in the morning during her first nap. I leave the complicated stuff for the weekend. The housework just has to fit around the rest, and if it's not done, well, it's not done. I do put her in the bouncer and take her with me to the kitchen whilst I load/unload the dishwasher or clean worktops. She must find it entertaining because she rarely complains. :)

Glad it's not just me Marta! I think today is going to be spent trying to get some washing & sorting of clothes done before DH gets home. That, teamed with me getting food & feeding George will probably be about it & we're both going to spend the day in our pjs I think :)

I def think we put too much pressure on ourselves, for the first few weeks I was getting really mad at myself for not managing the washing up or the washing or general tidying, I felt like if I succeeded at being one thing (mother, partner, housewife) I failed at the rest.

When I was off on maternity I made sure I had a bath everyday washe my hair made myself all nice for when oh got home and had tea ready, so it was a shock when I couldn't even manage to switch the oven on lol! Now I'm more laid back, I can't do it all! The worst bit for me is the cuddles at the end of the night, once lo goes to sleep, I'm too knackered to stay up and chill with oh, that upsets me. But I know it won't be forever and eventually well get more time at the end of the day! :)

When my LO came out I was lucky to shower every other day. I felt grubby, but I was trying to sleep when she does. In the end I said enough is enough and put her in a bouncer type chair and she would sit in the bathroom whilst I had a shower. Or I just sacrificed some sleep for a shower.

It comes together in the end, I managed to get my LO into a sleep routine so I could plan my day around her naps.

Also about these comfy clothes I was still wearing mine 12 mths later and now I'm pregnant again so I don;t have to take them off!!! Hahaha!!

I never wear makeup though can't be arsed, I'm just glad that I get to brush my hair a couple of times a day, saying that even brushing my hair is no longer something that escapes my LO's notice she now wants the hairbrush to brush her own "hair" I say "hair" as she is still pretty much bald at 14mths!! :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Gosh, I'm glad we're all the same. Had MIL over for the weekend, and I found myself saying, "great I love visitors, it means I can wash my hair!"
Feeling quite grufty and my nice (not sexy, just clean and fairly well fitting) night time sleepwear has become the same pj bottoms, my maternity bra and sleeping in socks and my dressing gown at the moment, so I don't get too cold with the night feeds.... foxy!
Thankfully LO doesn't seem to mind... maybe makes my milkiness smell stronger!
