Morning ladies, hope cake4brains is feeling more positive today.

My lo is over his jabs, he went to sleep early and fed at 2am and then woke back up at half 6. He's having his normal 15 min nap now as well :)

Having problems with teats and this thicker milk, variflow are coming out too fast and slow teats are not even giving milk out. He's also still constipated and crying when pooing so wondering what to do for the best! :)

mrsA was he more upset with the reflux than with the thicker milk?

He's doing great off the milk his reflux has near enough gone.

How long does it take for water to help soften constipation? It's been 4 days and its not getting easier :(

    Hi guys,

Didn't really want to start my own thread but thought you guys would be best to ask anyway!

My Dad wants to take us all to center pacs (him nd wife, me and OH + our 1 year old, and my sis,oh +DD)

Thing is my baby is due 8th Oct and he wants to go on 11th Novemeber...baby will be 5 weeks old.(depending ofc lol)

Wont even be able to rent bikes out as baby can't go in them and I dont want to be going swimming with the newborn(even if we did we would be stuck to the small baby pool just not something id want to do) so I we basicly go and be sitting round the villa the whole time and even going out for a few hours is going to be a pain as I would think Id be breast feeding...not to mention how the babies going to be or is it just totally not worth it? I feel like im missing out if I dont go but even if we do go it feels like we would be very limited to what we could do....

Am I just over thinking it to much?

Kayalana, personally I'd be reluctant to go - less because of what you can and can't do (babies that age are very portable!), but because you'll most likely be knackered. If your baby is late, it could be as young as 3 weeks - will you realistically be up for doing much? I was still in some pain from my c section at that stage. I don't know the set-up at Centre Parcs, but what about things like sleeping arrangements - for you and baby as well as for everyone else and other guests? What if baby has colic or reflux or is in any way, shape or form not a straight-forward baby? Will he or she keep everyone up? Then again, you might get one that sleeps beautifully and is really easy to deal with. Thing is, you just don't know. Could you suggest going in spring instead - you'll be more settled into a routine and the weather might be better too? Or is there a reason why your dad wants to go at that particular time?

Having said all this though - you know yourself and your body and your coping mechanisms. So all I can really say is trust your gut and do whatever your instincts tell you to do :)

I've added myself hope that's ok!

Can't believe my little boy if 2 weeks old already. His Nan has taken him out for a couple of hours as she wanted him to herself so I feel a little bit lost without my little man.

Birth was uncomplicated, breastfeeding the 1st night was grim (hand expressing) but got a latch on day 2 and going well since. Emotions for the 1st week were unbelievable. I just couldn't stop crying.
    But now I'm feeling like I'm a mum :)
OH hasn't taken paternity leave yet, he's a week off next week though, so will be great to be a proper family.

I've been lurking a while even when on Pregnancy thread... to see what I'm letting myself in for(!?!) so you all seem familiar names, but nice to formally meet you :o

Kayalana99 we're off to CentreParcs a big family shin dig when Edward will be 7 weeks old. We'll not be using bikes or pool, but pootling about with pram, and just sharing him about. Nutella's right, your baby could only be 3 weeks old, and in November there'll be limited daylight and dry days for pram pushing. I feel also your 1yr old will get quite frustrated, there will be alot for them to see to do, but you'll not necessarily have the energy to do it with them? If you don't see much of your Dad and it's his way of getting to see all the family, go along. But you're right you will be very limited on what you can do.

    L.xxx

I think I'd have been too shattered to contemplate a holiday when Freddie was this young. How long is it for?

Congratulations and welcome. Love the name Edward. But can't really have a Freddie and an Eddie... :D
