Hey everyone. Haven't posted on this thread in aggggges! LO is now 5 months old and growing quickly! He's a proper little giggler.
He has Eczema on his face and behind his ears and it seems to be spreading to his scalp. It looks so unsightly.:( It doesn't seem to bother him that much (although, he has started scratching his scalp in his sleep.
) The HV prescribed Doublebase cream but it just seems to make it redder and angrier.
I had bad eczema as a baby and so did my DH.
Going to take him to the GP to see what she suggests and will change washing powder to see if that helps.2019 Wins

Well I've let Team Shred down already I'm afraid. Technically I could be doing it now...but chances are G will only sleep for 10 minutes...
I think I'll aim to start it after our holidays. There's just too much to squeeze into the precious nap times!
Hope everyone's ok, I'm going to make the most of the peace to carry on with my ikea kitchen planningNewborn thread member

Hi, am new to this thread
LO is nearly 8 weeks old and he's my second child.
LO is very demanding and wanting fed all the time. I'm breastfeeding and he seems to get enough as he's putting on weight and seems fine but I am so tired. I've ended up giving him formula (1 or 2 bottles a day) and this has helped as he seems fuller for longer and sleeps!
I don't know about any one else on this thread but I've had conflicting advice from midwives and the health visitor....one says to do both if that helps and the other says no as the bottle would confuse him. I've been using a dummy, bottle and been breastfeeding and he seems to do all with no problems re confusion. I've decided to do what's best for the 2 of us and keep doing what I'm doing. Mummy needs her sanity!SPC 9 # 5360 -

Not sure about confusing him, but it can mess with your supply though as your body will produce less milk as you're not feeding. If you keep giving formula I think you'll find your supply will drop unless you express.
Also you might start leaking as your body produces the milk and you're not feeding your baby so get some breastpads.

I echo Lola's comments. Nowt wrong with combination feeding and in my experience babies don't get 'nipple confusion'. But... you won't ever meet your baby's demands unless you allow him to feed as often as he needs. I think that's the position women find themselves in - they have to combo-feed because they're not producing enough, because they're combo-feeding! It's difficult to meet supply when they have growth spurts so I think women worry and introduce formula when if they wait a few more days they usually find their supply's increased and things are calmer.
But if you're happy to top him up and it works for you, then go with it. We're not the breastfeeding police here!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Ah bless hun. He sounds gorgeous! Hopefully the doc will be able to prescribe something. What do you use in the bath, and how often do you bath him xDFD February 2012
