Sorry I was just thread hoping but I know what your going through and I made the same mistake. If you keep putting him down once hes asleep he reiles on you to go to sleep and you'll never be able to put him down unless he is fast off...also when they wake up in the cot they are less likey to settle back off as thier so used to falling asleep with you. Somehow need to get him used to sleeping byhimself. Have you tried putting him on his side? It really helped with mine but every baby is diff ofc...
I don't really have any answars but its worth baring in mind as if mine wakes up in his cot he screams bloody murder now >.< although he quite happily sleeps in the middle of us lolPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I really didn't want to start this but when he was smaller he would be out cold once he had his feed so I suppose that' just what he's gotten used to.0

He always used to wake up if I put him in his moses basket so the only way I got any sleep was to have him with me...
Only thing I can suggest is try putting him down in the day to start with when he's tired and not let him sleep unless hes in the moses basket and then move on to nights....but like I said I'm in the exact same postion cept mines 8months and getting cleverer by the day and thiers no way I'm going to do the crying thing ><
I was just to soft hearted with mine at the beginning. It depends how much it bugs you as for now were quite happy to have him in the middle of us but im pregnat again and I'm going to have to get him sleeping in his cot and in his bedroom by that time or Im really going to have problems...People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Marta, my LO's room is around 18 degrees, and she wears a long sleeved pyjamas or a long sleeved sleepsuit (no vest) + uses a duvet. In the winter she wore a vest under her sleepsuit, and before we introduced the duvet a month or so ago, she slept under two thick fleece blankets. She hates sleeping bags...0

The weather is making me confused! I don't understand what it's up to (OK, I do, it knows it's a bank holiday weekend, but apart from that...) - one minute it's raining, the next it's sunny. LO's having a nap at the moment, but I can't decide whether to go to Mothercare when she wakes up - we need a few things from there, and I also really need to get my eyebrows done, and the place I go to is close by. Hmmm... Every now then it'd be nice to have a car0

The gro anywhere blackout blind is only £20 at mothercare and I'm pretty sure you can get cash back too?0

Oops sorry Nutella! I thought she was a few days younger than George but I[STRIKE]was too lazy[/STRIKE] didn't have time to find the list to check!
We ended up having an indoor picnic - it gradually got greyer and greyer so I had to send a last minute text and have a super quick tidy and clean! Went really well though, even if the Birthday Boy ended up having a tired strop and going to bed halfway through. Didn't even get to sing Happy Birthday!!!! He's been walking round and round hanging on to the string of one of the helium balloons we got, very cute
He's asleep again now - this getting up at stupid o clock is really messing with his sleeping pattern. Hopefully the late snack at suppertime might keep him asleep a teeny bit longer tomorrow morning - I'm trying to work (when I'm not sneaking on here!) but my eyes are closing. zzzzzzz......Newborn thread member

I always said I wouldn't get into habits like that too, but if it works, it works. And lets be honest - those sleepy cuddles are worth it!Newborn thread member

That's what always happens with breastfed babies. They all fall asleep on the booby when they're little. It's not you encouraging bad habits - it's just normal. Plenty of time to introduce other things. Our babies are tiny for such a short time and yet we try so hard to get them to do grown up things. We'll look back on this first year and [STRIKE]won't be able to remember a thing[/STRIKE] will think it all went so quickly and what were we worried about
People have been talking about co-sleeping a bit recently. To anyone out there who worries about making a rod for your own backs... I really, really miss those early days of sleeping with Freddie. He won't have a bar of it now - if I tried to put him in our bed he'd think it was party time and go mental. He never falls asleep on me now and I miss it. So enjoy it while they're little enough to want to because pretty soon you'll have an independent little boy or girl who wants to explore not snuggle"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
