Is ouch-y he doesn't seem too bothered by them, he just whines a lot more when he's awake. Just drones on and on. It's unpleasant for my ears
doesn't stop him nomming yummy things though... men, they like the sound of there own voices!
At our 1 year check thing they just said before he's 2 as they won't really do a proper appointment before then anyway x
Hehe! Aiden goes very quiet and cuddly, and very off his food. Although weirdly he will eat an ellas cereal bar over something smooth like a yoghurt, but wont touch toast or mango or something....so the things I think will be nice and cool or soft on his gums-nope! Ill take a nice rock hard bar please mum.
Suppose its nice to chomp down on but even so....how can you turn down a nice chunck of.mango! XLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

My dentist said 2-3 years, but to bring them with you whenever you go for your own check-ups so that they become familiar with the place and don't find it scary. He said that in his opinion, the determining factor for when you start taking them for their own check ups should be that they're old enough to be able to understand what's happening and why they're there.0

Just took her temperature in her sleep - its 37.8. Wake her up and give her Nurofen or let her sleep?...0

Don't think I could take him at my own appointment  he wouldn't sit on my knee, no matter how hard I tried and he'd be running around touching things, pushing buttons, climbing onto chairs.
I always thought he was a live wire, but since being home it's definitely confirmed it, almost everyone commented on how he didn't stop, ever. He's like the duracell bunny, he just keeps on going and going and going.
Compared to my friends (quite active) 18 month old, he looked like he was on speed. I feel less lazy now when I think how knackered I am at night. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Id wake her...but I am a bit obsessed with temperature taking lol. Id do it for damage limitation, just incase it rose any higher, but up to youx

Please, please, please rethink your concerns about the MMR vaccine. I know we all want to keep our babies safe but there is no evidence that the combined vaccine is unsafe.
It's worth asking yourself whether you'd be concerned if there hadn't been all that hoo-hah a decade ago. I know it could be argued that you wouldn't be concerned simply because you'd be unaware of the risks but it's important to know that the single small study that supposedly found links with autism and bowel problems has been completely discredited. Remember that there have been many, many other studies that haven't found any link with MMR and health problems. One doctor who was involved in the original Lancet article retracted his claims, and the other (Andrew Wakefield) was struck off and is no longer allowed to practice.
Vaccines aren't some conspiracy of the medical profession that they like parents to be in the dark about - they save lives. In the early part of the 20th century 20,000 children died a year from measles. I know that those with concerns will want to use single vaccines rather than nothing at all, but even so, remember that these vaccines aren't licensed for use in this country and may not have been through rigorous testing regimes.
There has never been a single death linked to the MMR vaccine. But there have been deaths linked to its reduced take up in the past decade or so."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Morning all
hope everyone and their LO are doing ok.
Able to post as K is having a cheeky lie in (am not complaining at all by the way) recently she has had an internal alarm clock set to 6.21am  daily so this is great
Off for a weaning appointment later, I'm sure it'll be a waste of time but I'll get her weighed at the same time which will be good as she now on massively reduced amount of formula.
Reflux mummies - quick question for you. K was given some infant gaviscon last week for reflux. This has worked like magic and we haven't had any of the projectile stuff or stomach acid since. However, she has gone straight to solid poo in very small amounts  I've tried boiled water and very diluted OJ to no effect. What do you think is best, get a different medication for reflux or a second one for the constipation. Should mention shes only on 1 x single sachet in 2 bottle feeds a day due to feed volume.
Thanks in advance. Hope the day is good for you all0 -
Morning all,
Nutella how was LO in the end?
Hope the poor teething bubs are doing ok. We've had a good month or two since his last one so I think we're due one soon.
I hate to gloat so this is (probably) the last time I'll mention it - but guess which baby slept from 7.30pm til 7.20am???? Hint: name begins with G :T. Starting to get into the risky position of getting used to it...
I had a glance at the jabs site, thanks turtle but we're going to just do the mmr in one as usual and probably the others altogether too, just to get them over with. It's not so much the autism thing that I was querying as I know that's been disproved it was more the mumps thing. A lot of the writing I've seen about it does seem a bit conspiracy theory-esque which just makes me doubt the author. Plus I was scaring myselfNewborn thread member
