Who pays for the cost of moving? this includes removing flooring, carpets, curtains, poles, boxing items, removing and re-installing of cooker and washing machine. Then there's all the physical effort involved in this as well as the mental effect on people being removed from familiar surroundings.
I love this place :j:T:j

I've seen several posts like this, and the worst thing is some LAs will pay for them to move. Wish someone would do the same for me! ;)

    Sense of entitlement.

NO, what a stupid thing to say. Moving is expensive, I haven't even mentioned decorating and gardening. Not right people are being forced from their homes, cause that's what they are HOMES!!! Moved to scummy areas and having to fix up a new place, if they can afford it or are physically able too.

But why do you feel you deserve to be paid to move, when thousands of people have to do so every year with no financial assistance?
  • Oh right having a "pot shot" at me, ok don't need to explain myself. It's not for me I live in a bought house and am a Registered Nurse Ok!!! I know plenty of people being forced from their homes. I also know why they want these houses.

I'm not sure that many of those things get moved when people are renting. And, as far as I am aware, it doesn't apply to owner-occupiers.

So don't move. Pay the additional charge for the superfluous bedroom and stay put.

I think the stupid thing was to ask who was going to pay for you to have your curtain poles removed.

At least they have time. Try moving when you both work full time and its 3am still packing boxes.
