SAMSAM - what a good service! I just say what I want and in no time at all, there it is! Thank you ever so much. I did start looking for it but got sidetracked on some of the other threads - you know how it is! Will make the flapjack tomorrow because I've got all the ingredients already! The other threads I investigated were really good - about HM presents so I'm going to have another flick through that later because I've decided this year to make as many birthday and Christmas presents as I can! Thanks again!

LIL_ME - I remember when my sons had all their friends round. It always seemed to be our house and the amount of squash etc that I got through was horrendous. They were always there when I made cakes! It did used to drive me potty - your post reminded me of how I just used to want to scream at them all to GET OUT! But, you can't really do that, can you? All I can say is it really doesn't last forever, I promise - it just seems as if it's going to! Just hang on in there!
MUSHYPEAS - Totnes is lovely; my DH went to school there many years ago and we often go back because it's such a sleepy place that it reminds us of Britain in the 1960s!
TAPLADY - Hope you get the results you want on Wednesday!
Well, I have just had a very early bath because the hangover is still there a little bit so we're just going to slob around for a couple of hours and then have an early night! Might pop in before then, though!

Hung on in there until I had 2 kitchen disasters caused by them distracting me, batter mix now sizzled onto base of oven, breadmaker overflowed. That was it, sorry boys tea time everyone has to go home, wasn't ready for another 20 minutes (had to make more puddings) but what a relief!!! Oh and I was mean today, they only got water if thirsty after the open bottle of squash went ;) other ones in the cupboard but what they don't know won't hurt. Honestly it gets like a babysitting service kids here from 8am to 9pm sometimes, not a single parent checking where they were (some may remember this from last year) I had to take a 3 year old round at 9pm as my boys should have been in bed before that, her mother sat drinking wine in the garden haddn't even checked to see where she had been all day, literally was here from 9am. Of course they just expect to be fed etc. Made me sooooo angry.

Anyway, boys going in the bath now, have just had more kids at the door wanting them to play out which I refused and said they are going in the bath then to bed, then they said 'Ok we'll just play in our garden instead can I have a drink' Of course my response was 'No you won't and you can get a drink at home this isn't a cafe!' They live 3 doors away!

    Hi all

Kids were at cousins party today and had great time, ds1 came home looking dreadful, he is very very tired, he had an awful time last night, woke up with pain in his foot and blood sugars were very high! settled down now though, he also has stinging eyes from time to time, so will have to get that checked out.

Made bread today, dh made mince for tea, very tasty, had a great afternoon with dh, was watching youtube vids online, found some really funny ones:rotfl:

Also fixed mums prob with the java, so she now has her daily jigsaw:D

    Hugs to all

Lil Me........I had the same problem when my eldest 2 were small, everybody seemed to 'Play' at our house, never anyone coming to see where the children were, as long as they were not at home they did not seem to bother....my garage was their playhouse, we did not have a car at that point so all the toys were stored out there...............I used to give them juice and biscuits, till I got wise after that it was plain water!!!!! and this was 40 years ago!!!!! so things haven't really changed.

Chicken was delicious, rhubarb and apple crumble was very good too, both now feeling nice and full - replete - as my mother would have said........

Tomorrow we have to go and collect a wall unit I have just won on E Bay its to hang on the wall to replace the top of the dresser, once I get the kitchen fnished....had to make a sponge cake with all butter today, not very happy with the result, it does not seem to have risen as much as the all in one sponges I usually make, still it will get eaten with some coffe butter icing on the top............

Thought it was going to rain earlier, but it seems to have changed its mind, we really do need it....the forecast is for rain for most of the time we are away, typical.........its been brilliant in France, as soon as we get there it rains!!!!!!!!! oh well, I am taking a project with me that I started almost 3 years ago, I really need to finish it.

A friend has emailed me with a request for 18 bottles of Champagne, her daughter is getting married at St Margagret Westminster in November, she is having a drinks evening in August for her.....hope we get an invite!!!! I am making a ring pillow for her. Nephew aged 4 is to carry it, I hope he doesn't decide to play football with it!!!! LOL.

OH is watching snooker, I feel like a snooze so better go and do something, or I might not sleep tonight, think I'll go and put the icing on my cake.......

Lil-me - You're not the only one - I had 8 here on Thursday afternoon.....I let them have half and hour and then told them all to go......I made the mistake last week of letting 6 of them in and they all had biscuits and ice poles....not one of them said thank you either.... I like to know that my DD's are safe but won't be responsible for everyone elses kids too.

Had a busy couple of days - went and ordered DD's uniform from the outfitters yesterday  seeing her all smart and dressed up really brought it home that she's off to secondary in September....I really don't feel old enough to have a child at secondary school

Went to a couple of bootfairs this morning, went to pop into Lidl on the way home and DH decided we'd pop to the pub next door for half an hour.......which turned into lunch and 4 hours later we got home (was fantastic food though) We all went back to bed for the afternoon to watch dvds - was bliss.

Tomorrow we must get some gardening done, I need to do some baking for lunch boxes and cut both DD's fringes so that they might be able to see again!

Hope you all have a great evening.

you just reminded me to get dd to cut my hair tomorrow so that I can see again.
Boot sale today and bought two tops, a new veggie book, a flower fairy plate (I collect fairies) and a klimt print - all for under a fiver.
I've had a quick look in the freezer to see if I can plan some meals out of it but its mostly various fridge debris soups - It will have to do though because I've had some major bills this month and I need to save some money for the Cayman Islands next month.
All my jobs are done :T so I'm going to try to finish the hardanger doily I am making for my sister - partly as a birthday pressie but mostly to thank her for the aforementioned exotic holiday that her employer is treating us to.
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Lil-me, selby? is that North yorkshire! I think Im quite a distance, so would probably cost more in diesel! Thanks for the thought. Will keep looking in our local add mag.

Been round dlb's for bbq, had great time, thanks bab! glad the bombay potato's went down well! OH took ALL the kids to the park for a game of footie. He came back over an hour later, limping, not sure if he's pulled a muscle in his calf. He's in the bath now soaking it.

Quick tidy up and then will put kettle on and watch Most Haunted Live!
    Good night all.
