Hi everyone!
Up early and have bagged my place on the pc!! Our monitor is flickering ominously so I've just put out a plea on Freecycle for a replacement...you never know!
Had a very productive OS day yesterday although started somewhat earlier than I had intended...small person was sick so the was loading the washing machine at 5am and hanging it out far too early. Managed to get my quarterly trip to Lidl done and dusting and have gone from looking like Old Mother Hubbard with bare cupboards and empty freezer to every nook and cranny crammed with bargains! Cooked up some rhubarb I got from there and made the mustard for my Dad's birthday. We also now have a fresh batch of flapjacks and an orange and coconut cake which I've frozen. This was all topped off with a huge pile of ironing but sadly a couple of phonecalls kept me away from starting on the kitchen cupboards [such a shame!!]
Today am going to be as little OS as possible other than the bare minimum and we're off to Knole house for a day out. Toad in the Hole for tea and the BM is going to have to work its magic at some point.
Have a great day

DD comes back from brownie camp today so have stocked up on washing powder ! & DS has got up coughing & wheezing away just cos the weathers turned  anyhow have a good day all

Morning all; OH, my head!
I have narrowly avoided having the mother of all hangovers this morning! The dinner party went really well and a lot of wine flowed and I can only just about remember our guests leaving and DH helping me up the stairs and in to bed. He had thoughtfully put the bin next to the bed for me which came in really useful about ten minutes after I had lain down! He said ‘I’ll clear up the kitchen’ which he did up to a point but he didn’t empty the dish I’d cooked the ratatouille paprika pork in and it was glaring at me from the worktop when I first went in to the kitchen!  Anyway, I’ve had my first cuppa and one more will wake me up and then I’ll tackle it all!
PENPEN – have a great day!:A :A
QUEENIE – I don’t clean my PC nearly often enough but you’ve made me decide to do it some time today!:A :A
CATZNINE – have a brilliant trip!:A :A
MRS MIX - hope you sleep better tonight and that your joints don’t give you too much trouble.:A :A
AMIE – so glad the weekend is going well and thanks for asking about the toe! It’s gone a lovely colour and is still swollen but doesn’t really hurt unless I put heels on so I’m having to wear my flattest shoes at the mo! The grandchildren were fascinated by it and it meant I was excused football when they came round yesterday – I just manned the goal, badly!:j :j
CRAZYCHIK, SAMSAM AND STEFIJB – I hope you are all feeling happier today and that the sun is shining where you are. :A :A :A
The weather looks better than the forecast said but I think we’ve all got rain coming. The gardens are desperate, aren’t they? I was so busy yesterday that I’ve decided I don’t have to do too much today. The house is all clean and tidy – it’s amazing how much better it looks when you put all the paperwork that is piling up into a laundry basket and shove it under the stairs where you don’t have to keep looking at it! I shall do it tomorrow when my eyes and brain don’t hurt so much! I do have some ironing to do but I’ll just get through that gradually during the day. Dinner will be something simple – I think I’ll talk DH into doing one of his lovely omelettes with a bit of salad! My stomach couldn’t take anything more than that! Pudding will be left over Eton Mess which was delicious – everyone enjoyed that yesterday but I don’t think I helped my neighbour’s diet! I was also complimented on my HM bread – DANNAHAZ’S recipe again! So, thanks, DANNA!:T :T
I did say I was going to make cakes today but I really don’t think I can stand too long in the kitchen because my head is thumping, so will put that off until tomorrow!
Hope you all have a brilliant day – and isn’t it great to have the longer weekend? I wish every weekend had a bank holiday!
Will drop in with a cuppa later.

Well, you may or may not have noticed yesterday, but I deliberately stayed off MSE!!
Ive got a larder fridge, an upright freezer and a cooker coming tomorrow, so kitchen REALLY needed a DAMN GOOD GOING OVER! Especialy the floor!
Of course, to help clear the kitchen, I had to move furniture around in the front room, which also entailed hoovering (behind furniture) and dusting (under tv/ornaments). Had to put the birds outside in their cage whilst all this was going on.
Talk about making more work for yourself!! Anyhow, today I ache, have several small but interestingly coloured bruises on various parts of my body, and yet - I am still raring to go!!
Have already put dry clothes away, hung up wet clothes to dry, and have put bedding in WM ready to go on as soon as Lordgrim lets me know what he wants washing.
WOW - and all this because I wanted to check out a small-ish chest freezer!!
Next time, stop me going to the shops!! :rotfl:
Anyway, gotta get on.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Hugs to those in need. And happy holidays!!!
