Old Style Sunday 6 May

Morning, I'll just get the sticky.........

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

It's a long time since I was up first. DH has gone off to the US on business -taxi at 4am    I tried to explain that there's only one 4 o'clock in the day, and that's time for tea and scones ;) He promised not to wake me, but of course he did. Hoping to get a few more zzz's soon.

Took DD to Meadowhall yesterday - got her a lovely dusky purple dress for the wedding where she's being an usher. All we need now are shoes, shawl, bag  I'm planning to make waistcoats is similar colour for DH and DS. DS played in a football tournament yesterday - came second again

Went to hear Haydn's Creation last night (a friend was playing in the orchestra). Lovely music - she and I haven't sung it before, so will be requesting that we do.

DS is sleeping at a friend's. Need to collect him before lunch, then we're off on a *Fairy Hunt* at a local English Heritage property. Will have our scones there :D

Off for a browse, have a great day, Penny. x

Morning, I'll just get the sticky.........
Nice early start to my day today, had a great nights sleep and feel really refreshed!

I need to do some computer housekeeping at some point today (how often do you do yours?) and I want to take a trip out to scout around the boot fair, see if I can pick up any fabrics.

Other than that, not much planned, will see how the day pans out.

Wishing you all a moneysaving Sunday  :D:D:D

PENPEN .. hope you enjoyed the BBQ

JET77 ... hugs for you, please dont worry about the bed wetting, my sisters boy is 11 and he is only just got dry, she took him to a specialist, who was crap.. they gave her an alarm that goes off as the child starts to wee, well it was terrible.. it was so loud that it was frightening and even the neighbours heard it !!!! it upset my nephew so much. she also still has the kylie type sheet on and she used the Tesco junior night pull ups she found they where the best, now he stil has the sheet , but no drinks after 7 and there are certain juices that arnt allowed.. anyway.. hugs to you x x x

CRAZYCHICK & STEPH .. special extra hugs to you both, you are both having a crap time with the exs at the mo.

    Morning all
went to bed too early last night and have been awake but not up since 4am so am now feeling scuzzy.
Going to a boot sale this morning but don't have anything specific in mind which probably means that i'll spend more than is good for me.
Tried to put last night's leftovers (yummy bean chilli) in the freezer but there is no space so I guess it's another freezer challenge next week.
Queenie - i do the computer housekeeping when soemone reminds me .... so I guess I'll be joining you today.

Have a good day everyone :)

Todays plans, we have to leave in a hour to go to ds1 last match of the season, it has to be the one thats furthest away doesnt it, 45 min drive so we have to meet at 8.30am!!!!!!

Hoping that it gets sunny later as if it does a bbq is planned but at the minute looks like rain, every weather web site i go on says different things, one rain the other warm and sunny, so will decide later when we are home from footy.

Morning, I think I will file a rare appearance these days. Just got back from canterbury, (yesterday). Long old weekend drive 300 miles each way. Weather was cloudy and cold up there, while in Cornwall it was sunny and hot. Now I get back it's cloudy down here:mad: .

I think I will take the dog for a walk when the paper shop opens and then spend the day tidying up things. The greenhouse, garden, clothing, everything in fact. Out tonight at a friend house so looking forward to that.
    Have a nice weekend.

    Morning Guys!

Well the essay is basically done, just need to tidy it through, check grammar and spellings of big words that the spell checker wont check:confused: Will go out for a drive with OH & DD and drop it to my tutor tomorrow and have a look at the same time for a local Bootsale or garden shop. Is there anyway online to check what local bootsales there are? Our local paper didnt come this week.

Had a great time at friends last night and had some gorgeous food, some too rich though. There was everything!! The last time I saw such a big and plentiful BBQ was in the states.....we even had lobster:D ...not that Im complaining but it must have cost a fortune:eek:      Got back home about 11.30 and I only woke at 7.30, which is very good for me;)

WM will need to go on today if weather holds out, DW is empty and toilet clean.

Plan today is to rest up as we are off out later for dinner and Poker with some other friends:rolleyes: DD has HW to complete and OH has an essay for his course to start structuring.

Anyway, Id better go as gagging for a brew:D

    Breakie-Bacon Sarnie
Lunch:Ham, salad and half a large baked spud
    Dinner-At friends

    HUgs to all.
