Hi Everyone and (((((hugs))))) to those who need them.
Hello to any newbies, you will love this daily thread everyone is so friendly.
Didn’t get chance to post yesterday, as we had GD to stay on Friday night, then after she had gone home we had to go to town shopping.
Todays it’s DS1’s birthday he is 31:eek: where has all that time gone? So will see him later. We went yesterday with the cards and presents. GD had helped to make a birthday cake for him and was about to decorate it with about a pound of sweeties, so they will all be buzzing round the ceiling later!:bdaycake:
On the OS front it’s windy here this morning so thought I would wash the towels and dry them outside, but DH is cleaning the gutters out on the garage and the washing line which is attached to the side has been taken down until he has finished. I just hope it doesn’t rain later. I did the flylady thing this week so this morning I just had a 15min hoover and swish and swipe to do.
We didn’t have any brekkie this morning as we were up late so I’m going to make and early lunch as I’m starving.
Hope everyone has a brilliant day.0 -
Hi
Just a quickie as we're off to MIL's soon. We've been to church and we had 33 lively kids in sunday school this morning!
Not much os today but I could do with a day off. I had a lovely dream about David Tennant last night, but don't tell DH!
Have a great day and I'll catch up with everyone's news later.0 -
Afternoon all!
Hope you are all well! Thought I'd pop on here before I go and get ready for work... no rest for the wicked eh?
Been having a relaxing weekend, although the WM and DW seem to have been constantly on... I do lots of WM stuff at the weekend as we don't have a garden, aren't allowed to air our washing on our balconies, and it takes about a week for things to dry! We have got so much sorting out when I get back from work and also tomorrow, I want to get the kitchen and bathroom floors measured up for lino and buy some more paint tomorrow too, will try and get OH working his bootie off tomorrow as we seemed to have lapsed a little DIY-wise! Am trying to decide on a colour to paint the kitchen, it is way too dark in there at the moment, but don't want it the same colour as the bathroom... decisions, decisions!!
Have been trying to get the lime marks off of the bathroom tiles and the shower screen but nothing seems to shift them..... well, I've tried Stardrops and also vinegar, and glass cleaner.... guess I might have to buy something a little more expensive to shift it, *sigh*
Have a lovely Sunday and I hope the weather is better than here... it is so dingey!!

Afternoon all and thanks for the hugs yesterday and this morning
Feeling ok today
Really wanted to do a carboot sale tomorrow - I never usually trust the weather reports but I don't fancy getting up at 5.00 just to find its raining - not sure what to do but I've loaded the car anyway
Went to market this morning and bought 3kg of braising steak for £10 so I have made a chilli to freeze this morning, planning a basic stew this afternoon and tomorrow I will make curry and beef in guiness stew. I don't eat meat but my OH loves it so that'll be about 24 meals in the freezer for him by the time I'm done. For another £20 I also got 5 meals worth of Sirlion steak, 6 meals worth of Lamb chops and two great big Gammon joints for him (I use this for his sanrnies!) so I won't need to face cooking meat again for a while! 35 meals plus sandwich meat for a good three weeks for £30 what a bargain :T Bye for now, hope everyone has a lovely day.
Almost forgot - have a lovely holiday catznine!October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):

Afternoon All
scuzz - wow! thats a turn a round for you. Im so pleased the holiday went very well, and that things are moving forward now with bf. Like its been mentioned, go with your heart.
My brother has one more appointment in may for his US visa. If all goes well, he'll be moving to florida end of July. Im sorry, I cant offer you any advise, as he's been cagey about the whole process. The only thing he had going for him was the fact he married an american girl, and they lived her for 2yrs. He did say it could take up to a yr before he's accepted! I hope you dont have to wait that long.
Went to the car boot this morning. DD came home with some bratz things. Then was in Tesco for 9.30am. Home to un-pack, then took DS bike to the bike shop to try and get it repaired. But due to the rust and the bent handle bars aswell as 2 new inner tubes. They wanted nearly £50 for repair & labour. Talk about rip off! I said, it would be better to buy a second hand one for now!
OH has done another trip to the tip. At least its looking better behind the 2 sheds now, wood & rubble free.
I went to my mum's new house, helped unpacked her car & had a look round! Its an old house, but big enough for her & bf.
Thanks for everyone's well wishes after my recent events. Considering the ex caused so much hassle, fuss & upset on Friday - Ive heard jack !!!!!! from him. So I dont have a clue how FIL is, I would like to text, but dont want to start things up again! I will just wait.
Ive had some wonderfull advise from an OS ref how to go forward with my dad & step-mum, it seems the only option I have at present. I wont expect the world, but at least its an effort on my part, and then its up to them! I cant let it keep getting to me, I think about it - I cry - and I know thats not good for me!
3 loads of washing done, 2 dried, 3rd on the line now. Try and get it done before DLB has the bbq.
Been up in the loft to get my mum's old kenwood chef mixer out. The one which is older than me. So its ancient! :rotfl:
Best be off and make a start on the general clean up.
Have a great weekend everyone

CRAZY - hope it all sorts out soon. Crying is good for you really - I think it's better than keeping it bottled up inside. It's a shame that you can't text FIL.
DANNA - hope you're taking a break from the excavation!
We've just had some HM soup, HM bread and HM cake, all of which DH said was brilliant so I have my halo on at the moment. I think he's becoming more aware of all my OSing now and is even starting to get on the same wavelength. I see him going to throw something in the bin and he'll say 'what plans have you got for this?' first! He's just nipped across to our neighbour's to help him fix his taps - neighbour has bad arthritis but still works really hard and is always doing something to his house. I keep telling him and his OH about 'my' thread so I'm hoping at least one of them will join soon! They are the ones who came for dinner last night and they are also suffering with hangovers. We're all really glad it's a bank holiday this weekend!
I'm going to have a lie down in a minute - I've been promising myself that all morning - then I'll make a start on the ironing; will it NEVER go away? I want to catch up on my knitting tonight and I still haven't made a bag to store my HM bread in so I hope my nap refreshes me! Tomorrow, I am definitely doing a proper meal plan, will make some cakes, sort out some bank stuff as part of my 'GET LLOYDS TSB TO GIVE US BACK OUR MONEY!' project, have a quick flick round with the hoover and - probably - the rest of the ironing that won't get done today!
Think I'll just look for the Banana Flapjack recipe that someone here mentioned today and then resist the urge to come back on here - I must have a snooze! See you later!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Hi all
It's overcast here today but not too cold, we've been for a walk along the river. I have 2 loads of washing on the line & nearly dry & have planted 2 Rosemary plants & have cleaned out the rabbit & guinea pig & trimmed the rabbits teeth. I'll probably do some baking in a while & that will be it for my OS today.
DSS & his gf arrived at 3:30 Saturday morning, they'd just driven from the ferry, they had a cuppa & went to bed for a few hours, I couldn't get back to sleep, but never mind, it's nice to see them.
Hugs to all
Hester

MIOLIERE: I think the recipe you might be looking for is one of mine which I posted on a different thread a day or two ago - for you and anyone else whose interested, here it is!
Healthy (er) Banana Flapjack
80g brown sugar
40 g butter
60g marg
250g oats
1 mashed banana
pinch salt
2 tbsp honey
I often add a few tbsp of crushed seed (pumkin, sesame etc) too
Melt butter and marg, add sugar and honey, add oats, add salt, mash banana and add with seeds if using. Bake in preheatded oven at 220 for 15mins, stand for a couple of mins then score. Cool and cut into squares.
With the banana and optional seeds, these are energy packed and nutritious too!
Hope you enjoy them!October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):

Crazychik how far are you from Selby ? Monday my Dad mentioned there is a guy on Selby market does bikes etc, he was selling bikes for £10 last week.
Weathers been nice here, did threaten to rain but have got 3 loads of laundry dry! Downside is a garden full of kids, DS1 has had enough and come in, I'm tempted to tell them all to naff off myself, trying to get assignment done when there is a kid in and out every 2 minutes either crying, wanting drinks, toilets etc. Driving me mad, have given up even trying to study! Sounds mean but it's every day, morning until night on weekends and it drives me mad, they all just pile round here. Kids wanted an icecream earlier but I had to say no as I can't afford to buy them for 14 kids.
DP working tonight after he gets back from his race meeting so SC lamb shoulder waiting to be sliced, just need to decide what to go with it, hmm. Hopefully do some studying when I get the kids to bed.One day I might be more organised...........
