D'oh, forgot my own anniversary of being 4 months without touching an evil cigarette :rotfl:

And more best wishes and good luck to those of you starting off in your smoke free journeys, you can do it. :T
Isn't that a great feeling though and how inspiring for those just setting out on the road!
At the start we were all counting the minutes, then counting the hours, then days etc. etc. and every minute seemed like 15 but now you don't even realise when you're hitting landmarks! :TCongratulations though :T

(According to my silkquit meter it'll be four months on Thursday for myself-yay)

    Hey everyone,

    - exnicotinequeen, CONGRATULATIONS  thanks for the inspiration

    - doltage, good to see you're still around ;) & well done you for your 4monthiversary  .

I shall be having my first monthiversary in about 5 minutes & I'm quite excited about it too :D . I achieved 4 weeks on monday & you're so right doltage; I went to the pub for a couple of drinks & completely forgot I'd just reached 4 weeks  . I still get the odd fleeting pang, particularly when sipping - ok quaffing :o - some yummilicous rioja but no way am I giving in to the evil one now.

Well done to everyone on your achievements, be it months, weeks, days or minutes.

    lula x

A word of warning - you may let your defences down sometime round now. Just be on your guard for it and know what it is when it happens, if it does. Don't be tempted, what ever you do

    Well done!

Thanks for the warning Lurky :A I do know of the dangers - been here before :o but it does help to be reminded that the evil nicotina creeps on you & lulls you into false sense of security . Forewarned is forearmed or whatever the saying is, she's not getting me back into her evil clutches :p

How long for you now ?

Welllll...... (was gonna save this, but what the heck...)

I recall buying the Neil Casey book and reading it in one sitting. i followed the instructions and despite what he said, I didn't just 'not want to smoke' anymore.

Sooooo... I woke up one Monday morning, did my usual routine and had one last fag before I left the house, not knowing what would happen. That was Monday 31st July 2006, so tomorrow will be two blimmin years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been here for a while .. was doing really well and then for no reason just started again when i went on holiday

Only on about 4 a day so much much better than I was but still feel a bit stupid and embaressed about the whole thing.

It happened shortly after stopping champix (stopped with out consulting doc so maybe should have waited  )

Anyway just wanted to say well done to all of you at your various stages and don't get complacent coz it can come back and bite ya :(:(

I will try again in autumn as easier, I think, to not smoke in the winter when i'd have to go out in the rain and cold to have one.

    Good luck all :A

Edit: nearly didn't post this as feel stupid but figured best to get it out in the open :(
    :hello:
Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.

    Hi waspeze

Don't feel embarrassed or stupid :naughty: . You aren't the first and you certainly won't be the last.

It's a shame, but remember what you felt when you had that first cigarette on your holiday. Remember what you were thinking afterwards. Awful, I'd imagine. Write that down somewhere, in as much detail as you can and you can use it on your next quit as inspiration and motivation.....

    Hi Lurkio :hello:

Just feel a bit silly as got complacent after 3 months when I should have been strong .. was away camping and a few friends were smoking and just had a couple with them .. thought to myself .. it's ok, i'll stop again when I get home .. but no.. still carrying on..

I know I can give up which is the main thing just need to get summer out of the way first as go out a lot camping or down the beach and very easy to "forget" I don't want to smoke!!

That was my second time trying and i've heard said that it can take 3 attempts so that's my motivation for next time ;)

The brain is VERY good at rationalising it all - even irrationally. Oh I'll stop when this, that or the other happens and when it does, there's something else that needs to 'happen'. This is common in ALL smokers, waspeze, so please don't think I'm having a go at you..:o

    You gonna do champix again?

    Good luck - and don't be a stranger! :D
