Hey everyone, how's it going ?
Sorry I havent been on for a while but my pc froze back on July 6th & after a trip to techno geek friends surgery was pronounced dead on arrival  Much panic ensued, wine & chocolate were consumed in vast quantities then dear father came back from hols & this evening supplied me with a much more swanky updated one. I'm still learning how to use xpso bear with me. Anyway, I've lost all my favourites & hence my smokometer but I am VERY proud to announce that I am still smoke free
have not wavered once
& after 10 days I gave the rest of my gum to a b'f who has now quit for 2 weeks. Me ? I'm now about to complete day 23 :j. I dont miss it, I do get the odd very fleeting pang but it's hardly noticeable & I certainly wouldnt consider trying 'just one' any more.
Thanks to all who have supported, encouraged, cajoled, nagged & just put up with me .
Well done to all who have achieved smoke freedom & to all who are still trying never give up, you can do it, you can, you can, you can

Fantastic news Lula!!!! :T You have done so very well and by the way you're writing I reckon you're really, really proud of yourself and so you should be! I'm so very pleased for you.
I hope all goes well with your new PC, though getting to grips with XP shouldn't be too much of a problem as it makes PC life much easier; I hope that's how you find it too. Great of your dear Dad though!
Hi Bubbles. I take it you're still doing well? If so, GREAT for your too!
LEWKI & Wanna Why not treat your set backs as exactly that, more like blips. Get back in the circle when you're ready and just pick up where you started from. You've both come so very far and it seems such a shame to start from scratch as it may give you a different way of viewing it, more like restarting, which, to my mind, you're not. You could then look open it not as cheating, just that you gave up (at whatever date's you did) but had a blip along the way.
All the best both of you and don't be hard on yourselves as it's a hard task and you've done brilliantly til then. Good luck! Best wishes to EVERYONE, especially all those struggling - but getting there slowly - keep up the good work as you CAN do it!

hi all
yeah sue ive been smoke free for TWO WEEKS now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(did have a tiny blip didnt i but it was teeny weeny if you think that i used to do 20 a day!)
it feels like a life time ago, the little pangs do come every now an then but go relatively quickly
i think we're going to be like that for a long time its just you push the thought out
it does sound annoying that well be like this for a while but you dont use any energy getting rid of the cravings at this point its just the first few days where you really struggle
well done to everyone whos back on the cart(wagon!)
keep it up:)
well done lulaxxxx
and thanks again sue for all your motivational posts, very wise, very wise indeed!xxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -

Hi empty - please do join in the ranting mayhem that is the smoking thread
I am back on day 2 of no smoking, I was doing really well and then casually drifted back into it after the hard work.
How are you planning on giving up Empty? Patches/gum cold turkey?
Anyway good luck with it - please keep posting.
Wanna - how are you doing today? I could not post yesterday as away from PC
PS - also on a diet now as well. How many calories in a cup of white coffee? Anyone know? Its just that I seem to replace nicoteen with caffine lol
OH got paid yesterday so need to update my signature - will do that later0 -
Had my first real pang of wanting to smoke again whilst watching the film ‘Definitely Maybe’ yesterday evening. There’s a scene where the man and the woman are having a sort of smoking competition and me and OH were joking that that was how we used to be. :rotfl: The pang lasted all of 5 seconds and onto the good news, it will be 4 months for me smoke free on Monday! Yay! :j
2 of my work colleagues have been so impressed that they asked for the details of my hypnotherapist to quit and one of them has booked her daughter in for next week. :T
I have also noted that I can smell a smoker from 100 paces lol. Did I ever smell that bad?0 -
Morning,
Im doing good today, may start to look like a citrus fruit though, glad everyone else is here. Lewki blip over road looks nice and flat from here now:j
Hi Empty, nice to see someone else on the road.
Thanks Sue for your kind message it is just a blip and I will do it, everything is going well so far0 -
Hi and thanks for the welcome
Hubby and I are doing it cold-turkey  My last ciggie was about midnight lastnight. At the mo, I feel in a foul mood and more than anything in the whole entire uiniverse all I wanna do is light up. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHH
I'm going to try and take my mind off it by lookin at the monthly budget, meal planning, etc... (hang on... that will only stress me more! lol)

Hail & welcome emptypockets
Lewki & wannabe - Well done on not giving up giving up, I so want you both to succeed so will be checking in on you every day for a little encouragement, support, nagging or whatever it is you need to keep you on the road.
What a pair of donutsyou are for falling into the same trap as me. Obviously I didnt make it clear enough as I slid off the wagon :
The evil nicotina (to quote feedie) will NEVER release you from her clutches if you give in to her for just one tiny puff, think of her as a kind of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, getting the picture now ? She's a mad, bad psycho b*tch troll from hell who wants to possess you & if she cant, then destroy you.
Are you really gonna let that kind of bunny boiler be a part of your life ?
she knows all the seduction techniques but you have to be strong & wily & resolute.
Ok, so I now have a bit more of me than there was but if I can repel the evil nicotina then I'm sure I can lose a few pounds / inches & so can you guys.
You can do it, you can, you can, YOU CAN
