    Hi richard welcome aboard.

    Hi naomi,

Thank you, I feel a lot more confident this time than in any previous attempts. In fact, the longest I ever managed to quit was a previous Thread on here probably 18 months ago, but then we moved house and I was off-line for several weeks, and that was it.

    Hi Ali,

That could be nicotine withdrawal. I went on a course last year that was sposored by work, and after 3/4 days I was having some really strange physical sensations. They weren't entirely unpleasant but quite unnerving.

I think it also depends on how many you smoke, and the way you smoke them. Some people can make a cigarette last for ages, whereas I smoke one in a couple of minutes, and then feel as though I need another.

Thanks Richard S - I was like you, smoked them quite quick, so maybe it is the withdrawal side of things. Started with a muscle spasm at the side of my right eye, then vision wasn't so sharp, another spasm top of right cheek, another one top of left lip and then today my left eye has copied my right eye! Does say in the champix leaflet that it is a possible side effect.

Worrying bit is I'm due my sight test and contact lens check on Saturday and don't want to waste money if my vision is only changed temporarily.

    morning all!!!!

I'm still here!!! got through the long weekend - yipee!!!

I only had one bad moment on the roof terrace (emotions wise) when Mr P tried to help me move something... I turned around to him and said 'NO!!!! I'll do it!!!!' in a really nasty tone... :o

Apart from that, I've been okay... eating far to much though.. Mr P likes it as I'm a quite a thin woman and now I have filled out a bit, my b00bies have got a bit bigger!!!.. hahahahaha! :D

How's everyone else doing? I'm so proud of myself!!! :D
Here are my stats so far...

5 days, 20 hours, 9 minutes and 32 seconds smoke free.

    58 cigarettes not smoked.
£18.00 and 10 hours of your life saved.

Hi all .. well done on reaching another day smokefree :D

Naomi .. if you read the "instruction" thingy that comes with champix you'll see there's lots of different potential side effects ... for my part, I had really (and i mean really :o ) bad wind  , the vivid dreams and also had a really bad pain behind my ribs for a while which got me very worried... they've all gone now though (1 month, 1 week smokefree) and am actually feeling really good about everything :):).

If there's anything you're at all worried about then check with your doctor or nurse and i'm sure they'll be able to set your mind at ease .. remember your body and mind is undergoing a very big change at the moment with giving up the ciggies!
